when i was 17, i went to a german language learning subreddit to ask for clarification on the terminology/translation for the diesel electric propulsion systems in u-boats (wanted to make a shitty little game). one person helped me and the rest downvoted him, accused me of being a neo-nazi, and a few hours later i got banned entirely from that subreddit.

was not a good first impression
