I’m from the USA and let me tell you about both your countries. France has no original inhabitants. All the “light skinned” people trace their ancestry to Spain, Portugal, Italy, or North Africa (Berber/Arab ethnicity). Every native French person died out from the 1700s-early 1900s. I’d say more than half of your population traces their ancestry to the continent of Africa. Extremely grim demographic situation in the country formerly known as France (it should be called The International Francophile Economic Zone) England, now England has actual white people, but the number shrinks daily. Before you were reverse colonized by South Asia and Africa, you were reversed colonized by the Irish. Almost every “English” person has an Irish grandparent, which makes you a little less whiter than the Anglo Saxons of yore. England also has a large population of Slavs and Italians, which knocks you down a peg on the whiteness scale. I’d say the number of actual English people is somewhere in the 20-30% range if you exclude people who have Irish, Welsh, and Scottish ancestry.
