Besides stuff like croissants and cheese, I've never eaten anything that is distinctly French. What is a dish I should try?
>>
>>220472028
I've never tried it either desu. It honestly doesn't even look that different to our cuisine.

Why are you using AIslop for this
>coq au vin (braised chicken) and bouillabaisse (fish soup) look like a beef stew
>ratatouille is a tian provençal
>onigon
>escargors
>madeleines sausages???
>pot-au-feu (hotpot) = three pieces of toasted bread?
>>
Try oeufs mimosa, super easy
>>
>>220472028
I would only recommend trying one of those dishes if you cook them yourself by following a recipe. French restaurants abroad are overpriced and a waste of money.

The image is some pretty rough AIslop, but the dishes themselves are real. The most feasible on there is blanquette de veau. The others are either too basic or have overly long cooking times.

Yeah same, I'm a vegetarian tho and most of their dishes seem to be meat based

Corrrrrrr love me some oeuf mimosa with a nice piece of bread

I go to France at least once a year and eating there is always a wonderful experience. Affordable, quality/fresh, and great range of food unlike some cuisines that feel boring.

My favourite dish is probably a well done cassoulet. Rustic, rich, unbeatable.

Of the savoury dishes in your AIslop OP image tartiflette is an easy and fairly quick recipe compared to all the braised dishes. Favourite dessert that isn't too hard but might be difficult to source tools depending on where you are is cannelé which wasn't in your OP. I guess I particularly like food from the southwest.

French food is good but overrated, especially compared to Italian food.

French onion soup seems easier since you can just buy everything as is and combine it with no cooking skills

I don't like coq au vin
Whenever I make it I just think 'damn I would be enjoying this 10 times more if it were beef instead of chicken' and just make boeuf bourguignon a few times until I start to feel like making coq au vin
Maybe if I could get actual coq it might be different
>>
>>220472028
haven't eaten many french dishes myself, but i really enjoy french onion soup
