Look I'm just going to say it and I don't care if you think it's trolling or whatever: Nature sucks. It's dirty, violent, and gross. Sure there's some mountains and canyons that are nice but they're so rare it's a huge deal that they exist and you have to pay to go and see them. And they are a nuisance for building. 99% of Nature is brambles, mud, bugs, and diseases and you don't get anything out of it. What can you learn from it? Animals just bark and shit and honk at each other and then the bigger one eats the other one. I'm not a noble savage Native American trying to learn a moral lesson from that, I have books and a computer. If I were god the outdoors would be mostly perfectly flat with as few living things in it as possible to create a stable ecosystem. There would be one big ocean and a grid of rivers so everyone has access to sailing and fresh water. Maybe you think that would be boring but I bet you rarely leave the room you are in right now reading this anyway.
