>>220498896Seems rather arbitrary of a map. What's it based off of? Weather? Culture? I'm a native North Carolinian and I can't tell a difference between the upper and lower portions of the state. If anything our intrastate cultural axis spreads east to west not north to south.

However, I tend to agree Brazilian ape friend, I personally do not consider us to be "deep south". I just consider us Southern. If you are south of northern Virginia, east of Texas, and north of southern Florida, you are Southern. Mid atlantic isn't a real thing. No one in the US has ever said "I'm from the mid-atlantic".
