What is the greatest city in the world in you opinion? And why?
>>220546656NYC clearly. Sad they elected a socialist but they have a lot going on regardless.
>>220546709
>>220546656londrina, brazil
>>220546656It depends on what you enjoy in life, your goals. There's no definitive answer.
>>220546709I'm curious to see how it all works out. His wife is also hot.
>>220546709>NYC clearlywhy?
>>220546656
>>220546656london for mebiased because its my own capital (even if its filled with non english people as of now) but i think its a good mix between being steeped in history and historic buildings and modern cityscape a la nyc
>>220546871NTA but it has pure sovl. I really enjoyed my time there, but I was also surprised just how small it actually is.>>220546912>LondonBrave of you to say that.
For me? It's Ultimate Syndey HERO
>>220546656philadelphia because OP(a faggot) doesnt live there.
>>220546912London would be the best city in the world, and Britain the best country in the world if there were no non-whites infesting it
>>220546866He's just not going to accomplish much most likely. He wants to raise taxes on high incomes but that's just going to accelerate the finance industry's diversification away from NYC, which is bad for the city's tax base. Without this it's difficult to pay for any of his wishlist. His government grocery store and rent freezes are both silly ideas but will have only limited damage.
>>220546957its obviously got a lot of problems but i think they could be easily solved by removing certain demographics. i dont go often but when i do i am still amazed by how many beautiful old buildings there are, how many modern buildings are and bustling they are, the diversity of areas and things to do. im not a country bumpkin by any means but i am from a deprived shithole where everything is small and run down so going to london fees like stepping into the 'big city' or the real world to an extent, and that feeling is special to me.>>220547000maybe not the best but we'd be doing a lot better
>>220546709This, I hate jews and capitalism, but it's baseless contrarianism to say it hasn't been the capital of the world since ww1
>>220546980Interesting choice. It's essentially our NYC but in the sun.For me, it's Melbourne. Same cold weather and feel as London, but instead of Indians and brownoids, it's Asians.>>220547021>He wants to raise taxes on high incomes but that's just going to accelerate the finance industry's diversification away from NYCYeah I read something about that yesterday. There were some interviews with landlords and rich people, and they said they'd just pass on the high taxes to the people renting/buying from them.>>220547033I get that. It's just sad how London is today, even our news had an article about how London is both the richest and poorest first world city in the world now. It said some areas of the UK shut off their power at night or at other times because of council costs being so stretched or something, which sounds difficult to believe.
>>220547103For his property tax increases yes, they'll get passed on. That's not necessarily a bad thing- property tax is a fairly efficient tax. He was originally pushing for raising income taxes on higher incomes but the governor blocked it since she realized it would just lead to the finance industry fleeing.
>>220547232NYC is a hard problem to fix, I don't really see how it will get any better. But I guess you could say that about any city where the gap between rich and poor continues to get wider. It's insane to think that there are 400,000 millionaires living in NYC and 120 billionaires. We also have much the same gap happening in Sydney, it's one of the most unaffordable places in the world.
>>220546992Are you implying I live in every other city?
>>220546656SeoulBest city to be if you're under 30, periodBangkok best budgetIn Europe Madrid easily
>>220547331NYC has done a lot of things that constrain housing. They could go for land use deregulation making it easier to redevelop areas into denser housing, remove rent control and unnecessary "tenant protections" entirely, try to crack down on unions. This isn't a silver bullet, other factors are at play, but it could help expand housing supply. Having 120 billionaires isn't going to have much of an effect on housing supply, they only take up so many units. Its more the entire high paying finance industry creating lots of demand while supply is choked.
>>220546656São Paulo.Because I live there, which automatically makes it one of the best cities in the world.
>>220546656Paris, I don't think I have to explain
>>220547839No, I think you do.
>>220546709Them electing a socialist is just further confirmation of how great the city is though.
Cork
>>220546957>SmallYea, you defintely only spent your time in Manhattan. Go to Willamsburg, Park Slope, Flushing, DUMBO, Coney Island, Riverdale next time.I've lived here my whole life, and somehow I still haven't been to every neighborhood in this city, it's fucking huge.
>>220548598I also just mean the island itself is small, the scale in my head for everything was massive but you can pretty easily and quickly walk from the western edge to the eastern edge in no time. It also seemed like the only truly busy area was Times Square, I barely saw any people or traffic south of that spot.
Chicago
>>220548641Oh yea Manhattan itself is quite small, you can walk the distance in like seven hours, I believe.>It also seemed like the only truly busy area was Times SquareYea that's where all the Tourists cluster around, dont know why either, there are so many better places in Manhattan, but whatever. What I'm saying is that you should visit the other boroughs, as those are apart of NYC, and they're much more interesting in my opinion.Especially all those neighborhoods I just mentioned.
>>220548653I live in the dollar store version of it (KC)
>>220547502Based Paulista bvll
>>220548722Is the club/EDM scene as amazing as it is said to be?
>>220546709>>220546801this guy has aura
>>220548722>Yea that's where all the Tourists cluster around, dont know why either, there are so many better places in Manhattan, but whatever.Yeah I only went there twice and I was pretty over it, very overrated and tourists were everywhere. >What I'm saying is that you should visit the other boroughs, as those are apart of NYC, and they're much more interesting in my opinion.>Especially all those neighborhoods I just mentioned.I walked a lot of different areas and had a good time, they still weren't all massive but they were cool. I did take a fair amount of caution and I would get in a taxi and leave not long after the sun started going down, I'd always heard about NYC and what happens at night, especially in Central Park. At night I mostly stuck to tourist-ish areas or places I got a sense were safe enough to be on foot.
>>220548466Electing a slopulist with ridiculous ideas doesn't confirm its great. Granted the whole country elected a slopulist with ridiculous ideas but the whole thing just proves New York isn't above it.
>>220548653The unfunded pension liabilities are coming
For me, its hong Kong its a shame the limeys gave it up
Any city in India can be called the best city
Tokyo. Opportunities are endless. They hire people off the street.
I don't there is a single one. But usually a great city means a city having global significance, a great/imperial past or at least being relevant since the 1900s onwards. so shitholes like Dakka, Lagos or Kinhasa don't count. Here is my list:>North AmericaNew York, Los Angeles >South America Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo >AfricaCape Town, Johannesburg >Europe London, Paris, Moscow >AsiaHong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, New Delhi, Mumbai, Tokyo, Singapore>OceaniaSydney That being said there could be many additions such as San Francisco, Toronto, Chicago, Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro, Berlin, Rotterdam, Istanbul, Sankt Petersburg, Dubai, Taipei, Seoul, Bangkok, Melbourne
>>220553422>They hire people off the streetas janitors and dish washers maybe
>>220546656Probably Munich or ViennaBecause the Alps and surrounding areas is the best region in the world
Chongqing
>>220546656krasnoyarsk, its not extremely expensive like every big city is and it looks cool
>>220548750Can't say, I've only ever gone to Metal concerts.I've heard it's still decent.
>>220546709>t. never been anywhere else
>>220558210i'd never use the term "great" for cities like vienna or munich. well run or comfortable to live in, maybe, but not great.also it doesn't make sense to say munich OR vienna, because vienna is a level above munich in all the aspects that make munich good. vienna used to be two times larger and quite a bit wealthier back when the cities were building all the stuff that makes them recognizable today, someone from vienna would have found munich to be provintial as hell back in the 19th century. plus munich got bombed to shit during ww2 and now you have ugly looking appartment blocks from the 50s minutes away from the city centre. it's not even a contest between the two, honestly
>>220559670simple example. buildings in vienna's downtown would have 4-5 stories, while in munich it's more like 3-4 stories. so vienna is kindof the same idea, but one level up. literally the capital of an empire vs the capital of a culturally similar kingdom
>>220546871for me manhattan definitely left the biggest impression because the buildings all around you are so uniformly tall, that you get this full 3D feel of the city that you don't really see elsewhere. and also what is unique is that the whole place is a mixed business and residential areas, while in most other cities you have a few dedicated cbd's. the city of london or la defense will only have a few tens of thousands of people actually living anywhere near these skyscrapers, while manhattan has 1 million
>>220559670They're just the largest cities in the area. Milan and Lyon are also great>>220559801Having shiny glass dildos scrapping the sky isn't what makes a city great. More cities around the world should understand this
>>220546656Curitiba and it's not even close.
>>220560097i was not talking about glass dildos, but more like regular apartment buildings from the 19th century (when both cities took their shape), like pic relatedthese are kindof the default scenery that you observe as a visitor to the extended city center, and these are more grandiose in vienna
>>220548751poop aura
>>220546656wherever you have a gf
>>220560294this sucks a lot
>>220560120I know its supposed to have the best quality of life among Brazilian cities, but as an outsider it seems like other Brazilian cities there have more joie de vivre and soul
>>220560097>Shiny glass dildosDid Barcelona make you inadequate, mayhaps?
>>220546912I find the blend of new and old jarring in London
>>220547891>2017get new material ivan

Most people living in Mumbai don't even realise how bad they have itMy favourite city is kutaisi, georgia ehehe
>>220546912>>220547000why are there so many racists in the UK? Nobody in new york is like you shitheads, why is that?
T1. Tokyo, Osaka, Japanese cities in general T2. Seoul, Taipei, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Chongqing, etc. T3. Moscow, Istanbul, Budapest, Krakow, Sydney, New YorkT4. Los Angeles (kinda terrible kinda great)Some underrated American cities: Philly, Pittsburgh, Scottsdale (Phoenix), NashvilleSome overrated American cities: Boston, San Francisco, Austin
>>220569118Because there are no sane whites left in NYC dumbass
>>220569189Forgot Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Sao Paolo, etc. They’re T5 I guess
>>220548466He’s not actually a socialist retard. He is just another brownoid for leftists to elect and feel better about themselves. All the shit about socialism is just rhetoric. These people are progressive liberals who believe in shit like elections and labor unions ffs.
>>220568681why did you change vpns?
>>220569592No vpn here, Ioan
>>220569214ooof, this seems kind of antisemitic?
>>220546656Most likely anything from Switzerland
>>220546656Hong Kong. It has BY FAR the best urban/nature mix of all big cities.
>>220569237>Montevideo I guess it seems like a cool place, but I don't think it belongs in a greatest cities in the world tier.
>>220568953nobody asked you mamadou. new york, sao paolo, cape town or buenos aires are worse than paris
