Does the yakuza still have any power or wealth left in Japan or is it basically a defunct organization?
They were cucked very hard. They can't even upgrade their phones past like 2011 because it became law after that for every contract to include a "by signing this i swear i'm not a yakuza" clause in it. The reason is because politicians realized the yakuza, a largely zainichi caste, were getting to fuck all the idols, actresses, jav whores, etc. before they were.

They clearly have a ton of black market connections and money to throw around. Theyre a lot more international these days and get up to a lot of fuckery in SEA and the Phillipines
