>being a NEET sucks
>being a wagie also sucks
Is roping the only solution iyc?
>>
choose the middle ground
making money working on a ship for 4 months out of the year and being a NEET the rest of the year
>>
I realized that getting a job here is not going to improve my life. I see wagies here all the time and they don't look like their job has improved their life, not one bit. They're already broke after a week.
>>
>>220704045
it seems so, i'm too much of a pussy to do it thoughbeitever
>>
Buck up, kiddo.
>>
To reorganize your material circumstances is not enough. You must allow God to reorganize your spirit, reorder your dispositions and desires. Ask and you shall receive. Believe it and it will be so. Verily, verily, it will be so.
>>
>>220704045
You could always become some kind of violent extremist/terrorist
>>
>>220704061
What job is that?
i looked into the merchant marine corps before but it's like 4 years of school
>>
>>220704193
>What job is that?
military sealift command

you need to get a TWIC and a US Passport before applying

https://sealiftcommand.com/

it takes about 2-3 months to get the job, and your first year salary is low. but you work something like 4 months on 4 months off and can do whatever the fuck you want when you aren't working on ship
>>
>>220704175
Least obvious CIA post
>>
>>220704224
Is that what you do now fren?
I'll look into it I'm unemployed. Always been intrigued by the idea of working out on the ocean
>>
>>220704045
homestead
then you get the benefits of being a NEET (get to stay at home all day) but the benefits of doing work and keeping your brain and body active
doesn't even have to be a big homestead, just a small garden and a few animals.
+ being outdoors in general is a mood boost in and of itself
>>
>>220704224
But on a ship youre working every single day
>>
>>220704045
Running your own business is the only non-cucked thing to do.
>>
>>220704045
First step to being a happy neet is to realize you need to experience life at the present. Find things you enjoy and are mentally present when you do them. Swimming , fishing, playing some sports with people or any other hobby
>>
>>220704269
True but you need a large amount of capital to start unless you start out really small like a taco truck
>>
>be NEET for years
>enjoy life
>now have to waste 40+ hours a week of my life away because rent needs to be paid
>cant buy anything of real value with the leftover money because houses are unaffordable
>part time jobs that pay as much on a hourly basis doesnt exist, so i have to commit to a full time job
>>
>>220704291
Depends on the business. Many software businesses don't need much startup capital.
>>
>>220704045
the only choice you have as an argensimian is to get a college degree if you can, live with your parents and get lame ass jobs, part time at mc donalds, clothing shop attendant, use all the time you'll have to, idk, build a programming portfolio or something. What I do see though is, people in these jobs always talking to each other, so maybe you'll be force to waste your time instead of using itntelligently
save lots of money and dont waste a drop of it
get yourself an online gf because whores here will dry you up and they think it's cute because they looks so cute asking for a little keychain :3 or stupid bullshit like that
>>
>>220704045
Part time work somewhere close that you get some fulfilment out of is the solution. Gets ya some money and structure in your life, a good reason to get out of bed in the morning, and still leaves you with 12 hours of free time per day
>>
>>220704246
I am in the process of applying now lol

what do you think? does it sound like a good deal?

I'm applying so obviously I think it's alright but I must admit the working conditions seem kind of shitty and depressing (working on an ugly ass ship wrenching some 50 year old engine covered in grease, eating dogshit gruel, etc)

let me put it this way, for the first few years (and honestly even later) its a very blue collar profession. it's not clean work. the pay also isn't AS amazing as they claim on the website because if you don't have a marine qualification you can't get the sign on bonus, so it's basically around 70k the first year for a fairly difficult on-ship job. BUT. It is only 4 months to 6 months, and then you have quite a bit of free time just collecting a paycheck.

Even on the ship, you will have quite a bit of free time to play video games on your laptop or whatever else. Read. Study quantum physics. whatever the fuck you want.
>>
>>220704400
70k sounds alright more than I've ever made and i suppose you don't have to pay for housing
Yeah, I'd do it personally but idk if realistically you have to know someone
>>
>>220704045
both of those suck if you're an outcast, in which case yeah, rope is the better option
>>
>>220704224
>military sealift command
does this mean you need to be enlisted in the navy to be in this role?
>>
Becoming a wagie is quite hard in Australia for NEETs so idk what it's like to be a wagie
I work part time 30 hours and it's a vast improvement over being a NEET
>>
>>220704451
do you want me to post some information I got from recruiters about this?

you don't need to know anyone, there's really not that much competition in applying. there's actually a shortage of ship workers right now so basically everyone who applies and isn't a total moron can get a job on a ship. But applying is a pain in the ass, like I said, you need to pay for a TWIC, passport, and a physical/health exam before you can even send in the application.

you start as a "wiper" in almost every case. wipers work in the engine room, doing exactly what it sounds like they do, wiping down and maintaining the engine.
if you don't get in as a wiper, you are either a deck cleaner or a kitchen worker, these are significantly worse career paths imo, the wiper is the best entry level path. basically if you aren't a total fucking moron you'll be a wiper since low IQ grunts work in the kitchen or mop down the decks

after like three years you can qualify to take a coast guard / maritime class to become an officer, you have to take some tests and take like 3 months of classes at a maritime academy and pay for this out of pocket. after doing this, you can qualify to get MUCH more highly paid jobs on a ship. More like $120K with a sign on bonus. (this is about 4 years after you start as a wiper)

about pay - yes, you don't pay for boarding or food so you collect like 95% of your paycheck. most shipworkers take home massive paychecks due to this, it's a good way to build wealth.

there are several different ships that you can be placed on, and you can't choose, you are given an assignment (BUT you can turn it down if it seems terrible). It will be literally anywhere in the world the US navy goes, and they'll fly you out - Middle East, random islands in the Mediterranean, Japan, etc.
(continued in next post)

>>220704665
no, MSC is a civilian role. Each assignment is around 4 to 6 months long, so the commitment is far lower than enlisting.
>>
Give cool job
>>
>>220704680
If I could go back in time I would have done whatever I could to get a green card so I could become a sailor or part of the air force, military shit is so fucking cool

anon, if you want I can post the pdf guide a recruiter sent to me about the steps in the application process.

anyways -
there are 3 possible ships you will be sent to as a wiper:

1) FLEET OILER

this is the most common assignment and is by far the worst. they are ancient, disgusting behemoths, tasked with refueling the actually important ships in the navy fleet while they are out to sea. You will be stationed around the Navy's largest bases, likely either Japan or the Middle East or Italy (likely italy right now according to gemini)

here's some AI slop about life on an oiler:
