What is vietnam like?
How communist are they? Are they just china-lite?
>>
>>220743697
They're like china but with balls
>>
Like in China it’s not really communist, it’s a market economy. Economically Vietnam is like China 20 ish years ago. Culturally I think people are different though, I feel people are more social here
>>
>>220743697
They're basically the same "we're communist but not really" brand as China. As much as they are at odds with the PRC they look towards the shit that the CCP does as precedent.

They even are starting to have a Xi-Jinping style Paramount Leader even.

hookers there are more expensive than thai but better and more aggressive

How is religion viewed iyc? You guys are mostly Buddhist right? Do people still care about it? Is the West more liked or disliked?
>>
>>220743750
he looks like a dollar store version kek

>>
What's Vietnam like if you're a White guy who doesn't pay for sex?
>>
>>220744335
Actually really fucking nice. Try Mui Ne and Sai Gon.
>>220743697
It feels VERY libertarian over there despite the communism stuff. Or, maybe just from my... Nightmare-POV.
>>
its a barely functional shithole only kept running by infrastructure and societal improvements put together by the french 100 years ago. the commies are running this entire country toward a massive cliff and 20 years from now either a catastrophy will kill 1/3rd the population or their morality will be reduced to that of rats and ants and world bank will own everything
>>
test
>>
It's way better than the Philippines because communism gave them the attitude and infrastructure to industrialize.

The average Vietnamese is wealthier than the average americanized bpo filipino worker.

>>
>>220744462

>>
>>220743739
How do Viet w*men compare to Chinese w*men?
>>
>>220744462
Read my post right above yours.
Your society is absurdly liberal to the Australian mind.
People were fleeing there during COVID and raving about their new life as rice farmers
And then they just white-wash everything here but they're doing a shit job at it as of late
Please God Help Me
Imma still a country boy somewhere deep down
>>
>>220744565
Your mother is a disgusting whore.

>People were fleeing there during COVID and raving about their new life as rice farmers
doesnt mean naddah. there were white folks enjoying their fisherman lives in haiti before all hell broke loose. the ruling class sold everything of their country to fdi corporates. korean, chinese, japanese live like kings in the most prestigious real estates and fucking the best women, while harrashing their own vietnamese business owner. no businesses equals no jobs and for a while now their people been fighting each other for shitty jobs with horrible working conditions. there can be no future for a country that enslaves their own citizen.
>>
>>220744462
>infrastructure and societal improvements put together by the french
Nobody in the history of the universe has ever said that unironically. Stop fiending on underage Vietnamese girls, sexpat.
>>

i don't blame his mother, tho. Considering he's from Sweden.
Sai Gon and Ha Noi only started to crack down hard on town center cleanliness and order for the last 1-2 years, especially towards the end of 2025.
So, parts of some streets in Hanoi now actually look like a town in Japan since all businesses have moved their displays further inside their shops, and the newly built sidewalks clearly define the in/out zones like those in European countries.
It's still not a widely applied absolute rule, however. So some parts may look clean, and some may look as chaotic as ever. Rome wasn't built in one day.
That's just how it is in developing countries. Give it time, and things will work out just fine.

>It feels VERY libertarian over there despite the communism stuff
Never thought of it that way but I'd agree. Libertarianism is a left ideology too though
>>

The biggest problem in Vietnam I feel is the ridiculously high housing prices, a common aliment in first world countries. There needs to be a steady supply of new housing based on simplifying land use approval procedures and enforcing statutory deadlines for permits. It makes no sense that a house with the same conditions is more expensive in Ho Chi Minh City than in Seoul
>>
>>220746328
they literally dont have a domestic economy. their retailers, pen manufacturers, fucking instant noodles producer, everything is owned by chinese or thai-chinese. it is going to be grim for the vietnamese common folk when their country runs out of things to sell to the fdis
