The median salary in Mississippi is $30k a year. Everywhere else in the country this is considered a poverty wage, but in Britain you'd be well off
>>220759915That's ~x2.5 of my salary.
>>220759915Mississippi is also conveniently the state with the least millionaires/billionaires to skew the statistic. Most people Ive grown up around and anyone under thirty makes maybe a little over 30k annually if not less. I've lived in Kansas, Arizona, and Missouri. Even if they do make more than 30k, it's not like that money isn't going right out the door monthly on rent, phone, car, groceries, insurance.
>>220760171you need to understand you are significantly poorer than the average american, and likely one of the poorest americans on /int/. your situation is not normal
>>220760191You need to escape your bubble and get intimate with other people's finances. It's absolutely gross. Anyone and everyone lives p-to-p.
>>220760171Do you know what median is
>>220760206yes, people are living paycheck to paycheck, BUT they aren't making 30k!
>>220760206>>220760171why don't you just work more than 10 hours per week that's less than I make in eastern europe
>>220759915Does this include or exclude part time workers?
>>220759915Also do you mean net salary?
>>220760237I am a technician for an internet provider.I make 24 an hour and work 35 hours a week. After bank churning, credit card churning, and taxes I net 40k annually. More than enough for me but it is just me and my girlfriend and I drive a shitbox, but compared to most people in my area I make out well.Arent you niggers the ones with the booming tech industry?
>>220759915I make $75k a year and that's considered lower middle income in Los Angeles
>>220759915I get paid 60k euros per year gross, where does that put me?
>>220760206>>220760171>i'm poor so other people are toosenooooooor
>>220759915That's 2x what the median pooplack makes
>>220759915that's retirement wage here.
>>220759915Which I suppose begs the bigger question, how in the ever-loving fuck are Americans so bad with handling their money? How are so many of you living paycheck to paycheck or have massive debt?
>>220760543They are deliberately kept ignorant through the defunding of education and abolishment of educational schemes, and their entire system is stacked against them. It's not their fault that they're retarded, but it's a shame that we all have to deal with the consequences.
>>220759915And yet Americans dare to complain about their "suffering"
>>220759915Most people here are well aware that we earn poverty wages. The average modern Brit will actually shame you as some kind of diabolical hypercapitalist for daring to earn more than £50k (about $68k) and immediately call for the government to tax you 100% on everything over it to SAVE ARE NHS
>>220760491Household income is misleading
Per capita GDP used to be on a par in 1980.Now it’s half.Old continent is tot.
Yeah it's genuinely awful in the UK if you do any research into the topic. There's almost no way of getting wealthy independently there through salary resulting in inheritance/parents having a disproportionate affect on life outcomes because just working hard/being smart/driven etc is not rewarded to anywhere near the same level as in the USA.For example, I don't practise any longer but am a medical doctor. In USA this can genuinely make you multimillionaire wealthy young, in the uk it's just not possible except for the best of the best with tonnes of private work because you're after tax earnings are about 30% what an American takes home. It's not just medicine this extends over all fields, you have to be a top performer and work your arse off just to live a similar life to a mediocre American half arsing the same job.Only way you can get anywhere there is through risky investing, own business, YouTube etc or other really risky shit and even then this stuff is considerably harder than in the USA
>>220760475you are rich.
>>220760491>2014>As of 2025 the median household income of Latinos in California is $99,600
>>220760491Latinos had no response for this one. Theyb just lashed out at Indians and other successfull minorities.
>>220761163new york is just a bridge over nigga take a taxi
>>220761441I make $650k after tax... no need to move anymore... why tf u think I'm in Jersey... But when I was a brokoid teenager it really bothered me just how easy they have it. I do recognise that the UK is similar in this regard for those from developing countries.
>>220761579The Anglo-Norman islands need to be returned to France.
>>220760556i was never educated about it either but it's pretty obvious that you shouldn't spend everything you getmind you our government forces us to save for retirement
>>220760351>Arent you niggers the ones with the booming tech industry?first of all, there are no booming tech industries anymore, that bubble popped with the interest rate hikessecond, that was estoniathird, we're the poorest EU country and have been consistently falling behind to the point where most russians actually live better than us despite not having EU gibs
>>220761420Saar
>>220761768Why even bother transferring those islands from one economic zone to the other?
If you and your wife both earn £50k you get child benefit but if you earn £60k and she doesn't work you don't get any child benefit.
>>220760843The whole continent just went to shit after 2008 and never recovered
presented without comment
>>220759915In the UK, the minimum wage is £24,785 per year, but the median for full-time workers is only £39,039. This means that the average Briton only earns £14k per year more than minimum wage.Does it happen in your country?
>>220761163In US a single emergency can make you bankrupt no matter how much you earn
>>220764193Kek i heard bulgaria is in front of you? Why is your country such a shithole? It used to be praised by reddit and serbian liberals in 2010s
Why are things so much harder in nonAmerica? How do we save them?
Oh another polymarket ad
>>220760055How much is your rent though? Even in the shittiest neighborhood in Mississippi, you're probably paying at least $500 a month with a roommate. I would say the majority of them either have no insurance, or insurance to bad that they can't even afford to go to the doctor for a yearly checkup. And the public transportation is also shit so they're going to have to pay for and maintain a car.
>>220761420Because they're being paid under the table and income not being recorded. Especially considering this was back in 2014
Muh GDP.per capita or sumthin
>>220759915>$30k£22,170.89That is less than national living wage for 21+ @ £12.71 / hr and most full time jobs being 40 hours a week.In the South here you would be broke. In the North you would be somewhat fine.
if the world knew how much better off americans truly are there would be 9/11s every day
>>220775589I volunteer to be the pilot
high income is kind of meaningless when you still have to spend it all in a high cost economy
>>220759915>in Britain you'd be well offits about minimum wage in the UK, converted at exchange rate
>>220761292Income =/= net worthCA has a very high COL, so a relatively high income wont necessarily build wealth.
>>220760232you're a fucking retard. it doesn't matter how much you make if you aren't saving anything or investing. Are you serious?
>>220759915$30k is below minimum wage in the UK thoughsoever.
I'd settle for 30k a year ngl. If wages weren't sticky we'd literally have a utopia. too bad it causes inflation
>>220768564>>220778939>>220777903Lets not focus on the negatives. What are the positives of living in the UK (United Kingdom)
>>220779029Free safari available 24/7 via the London Underground
>you'd be well off in britain
>>220761163>am a medical doctor. In USA this can genuinely make you multimillionaire wealthy youngyour entire 20s is consumed by schooling which puts you in tens of thousands of dollars in debt for a career where you work 12 hours a day on call
>>220761163>Only way you can get anywhere there is through own businessthis has always been the caseyou either own leverage or are leverage for someone else
>>220761292Los Angeles, Miami, (and San Antonio?) are the spic meccas, where they will go if they are already wealthy and can live anywhere.
>>220780200What about your pub culture? It looks fun
>>22075991530,000 dollars is less than annual salary on minimum wage so that isn't true
>>220759915The median salary in the US would be lower than Ticino or Jura, poorfags
>>220761163Compared to Canada, looks like the wages are double, rent is less than 1/2, everything is cheaper and there's a better economy.
>>220759915Not really $30k is more like £20k
>>220771781>How much is your rent though?I don't do that. I live with my parents. The cheapest option would be ~$392 per month.
>>220760229thats modal not median, retard
Does it even matter that we make so much money when everything costs 10x as much here? My monthly rent is higher than the GDP per capita of like 50 countries
