Is it true that EU regulations stifle entrepreneurship, and actively get in the way of small business owners and creativity?
>>
>>220768045
Yes
>>
>small business owners
Don't you have any state regulations over there that don't allow you to cut hair without a certificate or something?
>>
that's propaganda by US tech giants who want unregulated access to our markets. in reality EU rules promote competition and free market capitalism
>>
>>220768145
So? It's the same as a doctor/dentist certificate. You don't want to be scammed or injured. It's not the same as some guy selling stuff online.
>>220768423
Where are the EU tech companies then? They don't exist anymore.

>you don't want to be scammed or injured
it's a hairdresser / barber. The US has shittons of regulations but with loopholes for the big ones. That's a scam
>>
>>220768045
The opposite is true. EU regulations have made it easier to sell to other EU countries and automatically handle VAT etc. American tech companies just like to attack the EU because they want to turn European into serfs just like what they have done to the average American.
>>
>>220768735
Europe has great companies like ASML. US tech companies is Microslop, Facebook, Amazon etc. and they provide no real value. It would benefit the EU a lot of those companies were banned.

>EU regulations mandate stricter headphone volume limits for personal music players, typically capping output at 100 dB to prevent hearing damage, with 85 dB recommended by default. Conversely, USA devices often allow higher maximum volumes, sometimes up to 120 dB.
Good.
>>
>>220768753
>No retort
Europe used to have tons of small to medium companies but EU regulations killed them or forced them to merge. I use a Phillips TV and it's really good, but the EU crippled them.

>>
>>220769113
That's not true, you're just a self to American oligarchs.

Not all companies create value. Apple makes fashion computers that are impossible to repair, Facebook is a waste of time, Amazon is overpriced, etc. Most US tech companies provide no real value or even negative value. Compare that to ASML (Dutch company), which is the only company that makes EUV machines used to manufacture the most advanced chips or TSMC (Chinese company) that actually manufacture the chips. It would benefit Europe a lot if the US tech companies were actually banned because they are like tobacco companies - they create no real value.

Who are they?
>US tech companies is Microslop, Facebook, Amazon etc. and they provide no real value.
I don't like any of those guys, they've ruined themselves with uncontrolled greed. I'm not against all regulation, just specifically EU regulations because they make blanket mandates. Also all of those companies once were convenient.
>>220768991
>>220769079
Nanny state stuff. What's next, regulate the amount of food you're allowed to eat per day?
>>
In my opinion it's not as clear as the detractors suggest. You have to remember that the EU regulates specific sectors with the goal of removing barriers to trade between member states. Imagine if every american state had its own laws and the federal government adopted supernational rules to create a single integrated system.

Look at the (in)famous GDPR, which is the EU data protection regulation: on one side, it puts a certain amount of costraints on tech firms, which would probably better off without it as they could do whatever they wish with their customers' data. But on the other side, it's a market enabler which "facilitates" the circulation, usage and sale of customer data within the EU by providing a legal framework for such activities by abolishing and replacing the fragmentation of 27 different legal regimes at a national level.
And in other sectors, like government procurements, EU directives definitely facilitate competition between firms by opening national contracts to foreign bidders above certain tresholds.

I don't trust anyone who has too strong of an opinion either way. Sometime the criticism is clearly malicious as it comes from american companies which have ulterior motives. The reliance on american technology for everything is a far bigger threat.

>We aren't serfs lol. Anyone can rise up and grow a business here. Meanwhile, you have to jump through hoops for a simple stand over there.
That's not true.

>>220769638
>Who are they?
My favourite European tech companies are ASML and Zeiss. It's incredible engineering. The chips in your computer was manufacture using ASML's lithography machines. Europe has 100s of companies like that. Meanwhile the US companies you're so proud of is Facebook, Micoslop, Amazon and the like and they produce no real value. The EU would be smart to just ban them.
>>
>>220768045
>entrepreneurship
This is a fucking meme

Every single one of these entrepreneurs are getting billions of gibs.
No one's building spacex o algo in their backyard
>>
>>220768045
Not really. The problem with entrepreneurship in Europe is not the EU regulations. It's national regulations. Every time you wanna expand to a new country in the EU there are a billion local laws and customs you need to follow. The EU regulations are simple and straight forward in comparison.

>Meanwhile the US companies you're so proud of is Facebook, Micoslop, Amazon and the like and they produce no real value.
This is crazy cope. The site you are currently on is ran via American big tech.

No, you don't know what you're talking about. Anyone that has used AWS/GCP/Azure knows that they are shit and overpriced. You're much better off running your own servers - colocation or VPS if you're a smaller company. I have run my own small software business since 2019; I run everything on Hetzner, which is a German company.
>>
>>220769752
>ASML
Actually good
>Zeiss
Literally who lmfao
Meanwhile the US has the entire infrastructure of the Internet but at least the EU has Shitsenplorfan who specializes in boutique server cables for Russian proxies
>>
>>220769906
>I run everything on Hetzner
Hi Roman
>>
>>220769236
They were once useful but US regulations failed to checked them.
>Compare that to ASML (Dutch company), which is the only company that makes EUV machines used to manufacture the most advanced chips or TSMC (Chinese company) that actually manufacture the chips.
I bet there is some stupid regulation that limits them which is contributed to the chip shortage.
>>220769404
Do Europeans not believe in self-control?
>>220769553
Yes, I'm aware. If only the EU passed actually useful regulations that prevented/limited foreign companies from buying out native ones, like Japan.
>>
>>220768735
>Where are the EU tech companies then? They don't exist anymore.
Thanks to EU cucking itself in the free market. Do you know why China has such a strong domestic tech sector? Protectionism.
>>
>>220769930
You have no idea what you're talking about. Thankfully the internet is still decentralised. You don't need AWS/GCP/Azure/CF. I run my software business without using a simple American company directly.

>>220770032
Exactly. The EU would benefit from banning all US companies.
>>
>>220770028
Microslop, Facebook, Amazon etc. were never useful. They are parasite companies. They make profits just like tobacco companies make profits, but they create no real value.

Yes, unless you are brown then you can deal as much drugs as you want.
The purpose of the laws is to exterminate the native population.

Hetzner's US servers are in Ashburn, Virginia literally right next to CIA HQ
Europoors are complete US slaves it's hilarious that you think you have any independence or agency in anything
>>
>>220770334
You're being silly, European are not slave unlike the Americans. Americans serve their Jewish masters in Israel and their oligarchs in silicon valley. Europe should break 100% with the US though and thankfully Trump is making sure of that.
>>
>>220770460
>European are not slave
lol
lmao
>>
>>220770510
Not compared to Americans but the jewish/american oligarchs is a cancer on the world. They are trying to destroy everything. That's why Europe has to work more with counties that oppose these parasites like China and Iran.
>>
>>220769930
The world's largest global internet exchange point is still in Frankfurt/Main, Germany, spread out over around 50 data centres.

Yes you're right up there with the greats, like DE-CIX Mumbai

>Imagine if every american state had its own laws and the federal government adopted supernational rules to create a single integrated system.
This kinda happened for a brief period but quickly fell apart here.
>Look at the (in)famous GDPR, which is the EU data protection regulation: on one side, it puts a certain amount of costraints on tech firms, which would probably better off without it as they could do whatever they wish with their customers' data
What? Even most Americans agree that tech companies shouldn't be allowed to collect and sell data.
>But on the other side, it's a market enabler which "facilitates" the circulation, usage and sale of customer data within the EU by providing a legal framework for such activities by abolishing and replacing the fragmentation of 27 different legal regimes at a national level.
I understand that it supersedes national laws and thus make things easier now. I'm just surprised because this regulation is touted as a good thing by privacy advocates here.
>Sometime the criticism is clearly malicious as it comes from american companies which have ulterior motives. The reliance on american technology for everything is a far bigger threat.
I agree. But from the outside looking in EU regulations look like

>That's not true.
It's true. If I were smart or driven enough I could look for a gap in the market and go from there.
>My favourite European tech companies are ASML and Zeiss. It's incredible engineering. The chips in your computer was manufacture using ASML's lithography machines. Europe has 100s of companies like that.
Yet the most important chip company that everyone is fighting over is in Taiwan. Why is that?
>Meanwhile the US companies you're so proud of is Facebook, Micoslop, Amazon and the like and they produce no real value. The EU would be smart to just ban them.
Not proud of any of them. I'm currently using an Iphone SE (2016) because Apple ruined themselves. What device and OS are using to post since you think all of those tech companies serve no purpose?
>>
the EU has AI regulations without its own AI
the EU has social media regulations without its own social media
you can go on and on but the fact is that the EU regulates before innovation and I see a pattern here
>>
EU regulations make it the best consumer and labor market in the world. For consumers and workers that it not childfucking canibalistic corps like in usa.

According to conservative American medias, Europe will be communist by 2030. You guys are just insane. We're neoliberal, the rich cabal ultimately rules us just like you.
>>
>>220771399
and what most people ITT would most likely say about AI
>WE DIDNT WANT IT ANYWAY
yeah right. Keep dreaming that there is a future where this thing only Chinese and Americans handle right now wont be the future
the same goes for space programs as well by the way. In that even Russia tops the EU.

all you need is to spearhead these projects, without importin billions of Indians (impossible I know) and do massive deregulation
>>
>>220770628
Bro Europooristan is the same shit right now and anything less is fucking cope. Or you are a richie nepobaby in an ivory tower that doesn't realize how bad it actually is.
>Europe has to work more with counties that oppose these parasites like China and Iran.
Agreed, but one can only dream, our kike-ish leaders will never allow this
