Are you Culturally Catholic (follow Catholic traditions but aren't religious) in your country?
>>220772791My father was catholic but my mum is anticlerical so she refused to have us baptised.
>>220772791>134 million>Zero popes
>>220772791Philippines is a big country
>>220772869I want to add, it's a big country inhabited by many phillipinos.
Anglo-Americans of /int/! Don't just convert to Catholicism for spurious reasons such as "it's the hip thing", "I like the aesthetics" or "Catholic girls make better wives". It's okay to be Protestant. This fad too shall pass.
>>220772858You have to thank us that we took the latinx Pope quota and by the time the Church decides that this continent should get another Pope, Brazil will be fully Evangelical.
>>220772894For you
>>220772791The fact that the sizes aren't proportional to each other really triggers my 'tism.
>>220772791No why would I be?
>>220772829This is silly
>>220773164Yeah man, wish my father had the last word t bh.
>>220772829And your father did nothing about it?
>>220773197Imagine Hal vs Lois and you will understand the outcome
>>220772791no, I'm just too lazy to go to Mass, and I know well what it means for my eternal fate
>>220772829My father is a (not devout) Catholic but I was raised Lutheran by my mother.Definitely glad about that.
>>220773235Ah, I understand now. Nonetheless your father is still a cuck for allowing her to override this decision
>>220773307Yeah I'm not the one to discuss theological issues but growing up religious gives you a sense of community you don't get as an atheist, which is what I miss to be frank. Also, I actually believe in God so if my mum were to learn about it she'd go apeshit, but I suspect she knows because I told her to stop her cringe rant many times.
>>220773358No no he was a good bloke, very hardworking and probably didn't have the time to argue over this, I don't blame him.
>>220772858>>220772791most catholics here don't even care what the Pope says or don't follow the religious rules properly. They can barely be counted as catholic
>>220773189You can go get baptised though. Even if you're not religious, but it bothers you enough to be a lasting memory.
>>220773489It is possible but it's a long process, takes a year or so of attendance. I'm thinking about it though.
>>220773373Well I’m not religious anymore and I didn’t like going as a kid, but the Lutheran church was pretty chill. A lot more chill than what I know about catholic churches and some of the crazier protestant ones.Confirmation class was us basically shooting the shit with the young pastor we had. The older guy we had was alright too.
>>220772829basedHe saved you from getting molested. But seriously it all seems a bit silly when you think about it>haha tips fedora enjoy your feminism/LGBTQ++/globohomo/AIDS/pedofile!Acknowledging religion as silly does not necessitate everything chuds also taking place; 'tis a false dichotomy.
No, Karl Marx was right. religion is opium for the dumb, downtrodden masses. It’s no coincidence that countries with a high HDIs are less religious
>>220772791On paper I'm an evangelical (the german kind) and I celebreate Karneval. And most of our public holidays have a catholic origin too. In the end idgaf because I'm an agnostic. >>220773566>Confirmation class was us basically shooting the shit with the young pastor we had.We did some arts and crafts and went on a weekend to a hostel where we had some workshops about God/Jesus and whatnot.
>>220772791>Congo will soon have more Catholics than France, Spain, and Polandgrim
>>220773123I think it's based on population size
>>220773579Statistically you’re far more likely to be molested in a public school than in a Catholic facility
>>220773566You sound like a boomer
>2010
>>220772791Christianism ruined the western world and islamism will save it. Latin america will soon become fully islamist.
We don't follow catholic traditions aside from traditional holidays. We actually follow folk catholicism, our daily culture is still similar to our tribal primitive ancestor than someone from 1200 europe.
