I don't remember all the specific little details but basically in the 40s 50s and 60s there were a shit ton of changes to zoning laws and urban planning pushed by the car industry and heavily accelerated by that faggot nixon and a lot of our beautiful cities were torn down and turned into copy paste goyville with trams and streetcars getting ripped out

We used to have really beautiful cozy cities with lots of townhouses and brick buildings and nice little train stations (and some are still around)
