Whoa, are you seriously telling me there are countries where the week does NOT start with Monday?
>>220808612Sunday is objectively the correct answer, only communists think Monday is the start of the week.
>>220808639It's not really. In the bible it says on the 7th day god rested. That would be Sunday, the 7th day. Implying Monday would be the first.
>>220808639tsmt
>>220808639GOD (PBUH) SAID HE RESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY (SUNDAY) THAT MEANS SUNDAY IS THE LAST DAY OF THE WEEK AND THEREFORE MONDAY IS THE FIRST
>>220808612I have no idea how it is even "officially" recorded. Obviously, the first working day of the week is Monday and according to the Christian tradition this >>220808691
>Portusunday
>>220808691Angloids have never read da bible.
>>220808639False
>>220808748Have you never seen a calendar? Both analog and digital ones should have weeks numbered in some fashion.
>>220808612Let's sing loudly, Sunday Morning!https://youtu.be/KPSvI5K6O_k
>>220808612We don’t work on Sundays, but it’s the first day of the week since Saturday is the seventh and last. Basically the days are just counted up to Saturday and only Saturday and Sunday have proper names imc
>>220808804You WILL worship Thor...
>>220808612Weeks are fake bullshit for wagies anyway, so who gives a shit?
>>220808867In Brazil we worship Deus
>>220808691The 7th day is Saturday, that's why it's when the majority of sabbath happens and the Hebrew word for Sunday literally means first day.
>>220808691The seventh day was Saturday, they just changed it to Sunday because they wanted to distinguish themselves from Jews.
the week has started with sunday since the babylonians invented weeks 4,000 years ago. who starts a list of heavenly bodies with the fucking moon?
>>220808691saturday is the sabbath, the 7 day, the day of rest. sunday is the day of the Lord, the 8th day. it's actually quite beautiful symbolism
>>220809066>the 8th daySunday’s the first day, the Lord’s Day (domingo). Monday’s the second (segunda-feira). Might be time to ditch the pagan day names
>>220808973Goyim moment
>>220809052False.
>>220808612Sunday implies Saturday is the last day (Jewish tradition)Monday implies Sunday is the last day (Christian tradition). No idea what Muslims are going with for Saturday but I assume it is the same just that Friday is their day of rest.I also assume that North Korea got Monday as the first day from the Soviet Union.
>>220809066>sunday is the day of the Lord, the 8th day>the 8th dayanon
>>220808612Based maldives
>>220808612In portuguese Monday means second day
>>220808951>>220808867Literally the same god
>>220808612Some states in Malaysia starts the week on Sunday. We are a Federation and our states actually have suprisingly lots of power to make decisions.
>>220808612what a mess we need more globalisation
>>220808612the Lord rose on sunday, not monday
>>220808691>Serbs have never read the Bible

>>220811744>Genesis 2:1-3>2 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and wall the host of them. 2 And xon the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done. 3 So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.Brother it's literally the first part. C'mon.
>>220808612Wait I'm Asian?
never in my life have I heard anyone say the week starts on a sunday. Is this referring to calendar format or something?
>>220808612Sunday is the first day in Jew countries.
>>220808639Choosing the last day of the week and the rest day to start a week seems a weird choice
>>220811799They counted the days differently, Saturday used to be the seventh day. But when they changed it to Sunday dunno why everyone didn't change when the week starts a too
>>220811844I've seen this sort of calendar in some shows and some computers have it if the locale defaults to US.
>>220812591He's retarded. All calenders in states start the week on Sunday. I can't even think of some obscure exception like Amish or Mormons. Maybe 7th day Adventist? I don't know.>>220812572Calenders have changed a lot all over. Major one being Julian to Gregorian. If the holy day and day of rest is Sunday then that should be the end of the week is my point.
>>220808691Seventh Day Adventists would have you hanged for this.
>Saudi ArabiaDangerously based, but what's their rationale for this? Something like the idea of which day a week starts on being foreign/irrelevant in Muhammad's time?
>>220812609It makes sense to end the week on weekend too, from a non-religious point too.
>>220809574How is that Jewish at all? Sunday as the first day of the week was set by the Church
>>220812615>Laughs in orthodoxy
>>220812609>If the holy day and day of rest is Sunday then that should be the end of the week is my point. In the Old Testament it was Saturday because that was the seventh day if you start counting from Sunday, which was the first day.Sunday became the Sabbath day for Christians because that was the day that Jesus returned and him having returned on the first day of a new week symbolized his new covenant with his followers, promise of eternal life, etc. so that's the merit to having it be the first day of the week
>>220809669god i hate the name of days in portuguese, what a retarded ass language. Segunda (second) feiraTerça (third) feiraQuarta (forth) feiraQuinta (fifth) feiraSexta (sixty) feiraat least SATVURN day (sabado) isn't so bad
>>220812660I don't like 7th day adventists btw, its just that what you said would actually rage bait them
>>220812683It's the same in the Serbian Orthodox church. Even though almost all of our holy days go by the Julian calendar, easter is always on Sunday in the Gregorian Calender. Still most Orthodox countries start their week on Monday. Weekend means weekend not weekstart. Dunno what to tell you, it's even baked into English that Sunday is the wrong day to start the week.
>>220812699>at least SATVURN day (sabado) isn't so badSabado means sabbath, not saturnIberians are once again confirmed to be jews
>>220812732>it's even baked into English that Sunday is the wrong day to start the week.In English the start of something can also be referred to as an "end"
>>220812699>>220812764It's all from ecclesiastical Latin, people in other countries have no clue what “feira” is since it’s basically a Portuguese thing now
>>220812786Ecclesiastical Latin in this case is just hebrew. You have the hebrew way of naming days of the week. Turns out papists were the original judaizers while protestant teuton chads are volkisch.
>>220812837Yes, and since it’s sábado, I’ll reply at the start of the week
>>220808612finally a map where we're not the same as the fucking peruviansI'm so fucking tired of them
>>220808612i find it strange that so many even use 7 day cycles like why did so many pick 7
>>220812919why the peruphobia
>>220813249I just don't like it that they bunch us up all the fucking time, while we share a cultural region in the western highlands, the rest of the country is very different, I'm sure the rest of their country is different too.
>>220808612Everybody thinks the week starts on monday, but it actually starts on sunday. Our wednesday was renamed to "Mittwoch" by early Christian missionaries so that the pagans wouldn't celebrate Wotan/Odin. It literally means "the middle of the week". For wednesday to be the middle of the week, the week has to start on a sunday.

>>220809213>>220809587He's clearly referring to the theological meaning of it. And he's absolutely right in a sense. On a larger scale, theologically speaking, we live in the Seventh day as of now up until the resurrection of the dead, after which there shall be an eternal Eighth day.
