do you workout in your country? i wanna start but i'm ashamed because i'm too skinny
>>
>I don't want to start working out because I'm not already fit and muscular
People who say this are fucking retards.
Exercise is for health first, anyways.

>do you workout in your country?
Yeah
>i wanna start but i'm ashamed because i'm too skinny
Kek why? Everyone starts off skinny or fat. Every jock you see in the gym started off somewhere. Nobody is going to judge you for working on yourself and if they do they're retarded.
>>
u cant start anything with that mindset

nobody in the gym cares abt u

just go work out

Yes. Ive been doing for bit more than a year.
It helped me go from 109 kg at 34-7% body fat down to 98kg at 25% bf
Ever since I really got into it, Ive been regreting not starting this when I was younger and less fucked up from 12 years of just sitting on a chair 24/7

Yes but its lighter these days. I do serious calisthenics or cardio 3 times a week then just basic 30 minute light routines all other days, also I go hiking on the weekends. I used to do consistent intense routines 5 days a week between cardio and lifting and eventually got to my 1/2/3/4 and then focused more on cardio and got a 5:45 minute mile but nowadays ive chilled out a bit and my weekly routine is a lot less intense. Not really trying to hit goals as fast as possible more or less im just doing maintenance work and having a more gradual increase in strength.

I think they’re more worried about gymbros taking pictures of them at the gym being weak/fat/whatever and posting it on social media to ridicule.
>>
>>220838453
cool bro, i tried calisthenics at home, did a few weeks but end up quitting.
>>220838476
unironically this

Childhood / adolescent obesity is genuinely depressing. Thank god my parents forced me to do sports and I ended up liking them. It takes years to reallt dig yourself out of serious obesity and takes years off your life but it always necessary to lose the weight no matter what it jusy objectively improves your life in every way.
>>
>>220838488
I think calisthenics is more fun than typical weight training once you get fruther into your strenght training, it has a lot of acrobatics in it at the higher levels and you really have to work on your balance in a way that makes it more interesting than just repeating the same 5*5 over and over again. Only issue is its hard to hit parts of the back doing just calisthenics.
>>
>>220837447
I like to swim. I was a competitive swimmer at school until puberty, after which I stopped because I can't control my boners while wearing speedos.
>>
>>220838542
Kek back is one of the easiest things to hit with calisthenics. Wtf. That's what pull ups and rows do, some pushup variations
Once you can do bridges that's also good for your back
OP should do calisthenics and kettlebells. I got pretty far with that and boxing in my teens.
>>
>>220838580
I'm not a sportsfag but isn't that what jock straps help with
>>
I started going to the gym after getting a hard manual labor job after being a neet for so long. The job has skyrockted my functional strength but I am now looking for definition and some mass.
>>
>>220838476
Doesn't happen
>>

>do you workout in your country?
Yes

>i wanna start but i'm ashamed because i'm too skinny
No one is going to worry about you.
>>
>>220838591
>That's what pull ups and rows do, some pushup variations
Pulls ups mostly get upper back and rows mostly hit mid back, lower back is a bit different. There arent really great calisthenics exercises that get lower back especially compared to weight training exercises like dead lifts. Pike push ups with good form hit lower back better than any calisthenic techniques ive tried and they're OK but its not as good as deadlifts. You can get decent lower back strength doing calisthenics but they are lacking a bit imo
>>
>>220838614
>but I am now looking for definition and some mass.
Gotta start bulking for that bro
>>
>>220838699
Well the lower back exercises like the glute bridge and superman help me rehabilitate my lower back the 3 times it's gone out in my life. But I need to do then regularly to prevent more flare ups. I would say that's where you'd benefit from kettlebells, doing swings deadlifts and Turkish get ups

>cool bro, i tried calisthenics at home, did a few weeks but end up quitting.
so start again?
>>
>>220838766
i will, i keep telling myself that i will start the gym next week but when the time comes i just keep making excuses. i previously used this method, i even have the bars that he uses

>>
I started last year. I'm skin and bones but I feel much better about my body now. Got a six pack (4 pack at rest) and have become stronger even it doesn't show. Feels good. Working out makes anxiety and other thoughts go away too
>>
>>220838763
No yeah calisthenic exercises for the lower back are really good for stabilization and mostly focus on isometric holds, so theyre great for rehabilitation since they tend to not require quick burst of action and instead just constant tension, but calisthenic exercises for the lower back basically only focus on isometric holds. There's not much of a push or pull dynamic to those exercises when it comes to the lower back. Upper and mid back definitely does though , like significantly.

>kettlebells
Ive actually never done kettlebells so I couldn't say, I just switched from weight training to calisthenics because I got bored with the old 5*5

Watch Bioneer's videos on kettlebells

But if you're still interested in learning more he has a few more on kettlebells

>>220837745
I was very skinny for a long time and I had to get over this fear to consistently work out. It's such a relief when you finally get it through your head that nobody cares about you
>>
>>220838906
Yeah I might, im still trying to hit my goal of holding a full planche without bars which has been taking ages so I'll probably pivot to something if I get bored again

Give me (1) good reason not to skip straight to steroids when I begin lifting.
Why wait three years for a body that roids can get you in half a year?

Potential liver cancer, potential heart problems, potential infertility, potential muscle infection with necrosis, potential back problems, potential emotional instability, potential gynecomastia, potential infertility, potential death before age 40, potential lifelong dependence on exogenous testosterone, potential addiction to the juice.
I’ve been training for exactly 13 years. Whenever I see a young person taking steroids, I automatically think of Darwinian natural selection. I always hope he'll move to Trembo as soon as possible.

>>220839133
my cousin did this. he looked insanely great while taking roids, but hot bigger and bigger. finally when he dropped them he had some fertility issues (didn't want to detail but made me go 'damn the memes were true'). now he looks smaller, shrunk, deflated. he started to work out again 1 year ago, doesn't look as good as before but at least doesn't have the same weird physique anymore

you do shrink pretty fast getting off roids, though if you do it correctly you can keep a good amount. most just don't pct correctly or even at all, or just stop lifting when they no longer have the 'roids making it easy for them.

I was stupidly obese (161 kg/188 cm) when I started going to the gym. Did all the cope, wearing a hoodie to "hide" my fat, avoiding machines near people, going only late at night when it was almost empty and having no idea what the fuck I was doing.

Some GIGACHAD gymbro told me to just wear a t-shirt and fuck everyone else. Also told me to do cardio and lose weight before focusing on muscles and that helped a lot. I'm at 107 kg now and have started a full body workout program.
