Frenchanons of /int/, how often do you eat French onion soup? Do people eat it with meat? What types of meat do you put into it if so?

Not often, I eat onion pie more often, plus I've never heard about the combo meat + onion soup, you can grill cheese on top of it

So people never cook it with meat? I kinda want to make it because it looks good and I need to eat onions for my spring allergies but I'm also trying to lose weight so I want to add some ground beef, chicken or turkey into it to make sure I get protein

Usually it's a starter not the main course and I've never seen it served with meat, but if you want to eat it with meat go for it you live in the land of the free dude

French onion soup doesnt usually have meat in it , instead it has a crostini with melted cheese on top usually swiss or gruyere

T. Linecook nigga who used to make french onion soup for restaurants a lot

It's not made with meat
>>
You eat it after a heavy family dinner to recover, once every 5 years
>>
>>220837564
Do you do gruyere cheese or what
>>

Cooked onion is just sugar, you should eat it raw in vinaigrette o algo to get onion benefits

I read you will have more bioavailable antioxidants like quercetin which is what I need to help with allergies. Raw onions would have higher sulfur for heart health. So it's like you lose the potency of done nutrients and gain potency of other nutrients.
I need to build a rotation of soup recipes.

Onion soup, very rarely I don't even remember.
Regular veggie soup, I make some every week, but I vary the ingredients.
>>
>>220837529
Who the fuck eats it with meat??
>>
Almost never, onions take ages to caramelize, even at restaurants you don't see it often. It's the american view of france really, like your obsession with brie
t. half french

Onion soup is popular on Christmas Eve. Otherwise it's a very rare occurence. With so many traditional/national recipes you end up sticking to the best or the ones you prefer, onion soup in the end is pretty basic and not particularly grandiose.
