>>220837564So people never cook it with meat? I kinda want to make it because it looks good and I need to eat onions for my spring allergies but I'm also trying to lose weight so I want to add some ground beef, chicken or turkey into it to make sure I get protein

>>220837529It's not made with meat
You eat it after a heavy family dinner to recover, once every 5 years
>>220837564Do you do gruyere cheese or what
>>220837586Cooked onion is just sugar, you should eat it raw in vinaigrette o algo to get onion benefits
>>220837952I read you will have more bioavailable antioxidants like quercetin which is what I need to help with allergies. Raw onions would have higher sulfur for heart health. So it's like you lose the potency of done nutrients and gain potency of other nutrients. I need to build a rotation of soup recipes.
>>220837529Onion soup, very rarely I don't even remember.Regular veggie soup, I make some every week, but I vary the ingredients.
>>220837529Who the fuck eats it with meat??
Almost never, onions take ages to caramelize, even at restaurants you don't see it often. It's the american view of france really, like your obsession with brie t. half french
>>220837529Onion soup is popular on Christmas Eve. Otherwise it's a very rare occurence. With so many traditional/national recipes you end up sticking to the best or the ones you prefer, onion soup in the end is pretty basic and not particularly grandiose.
