Any Finn would die for these kinds of super powers, but Spaniards have them and arent using them. Why?

The same question to all warm countries.

for Finland
>you need to heat your house or you die, cant do it yourself without owning a forest and even the warmer countries in Europe try to ban wood
>constant rain and snow, if your roof is leaking you are dead
>things grow 2,5 months a year and after that everything is dead. With a green house you can extend it but its expensive to heat it. With genetic modification many things grow here nowadays, but historically you could only do barely do anything else but potatoes and barley in some places
>basically no sun during winter, zero solar energy in 3 months of the year

no, seriously
if I were a Spaniard I would literally refuse industrial society because the legislation in the EU and the environment is all rooting for you

The interior and the mountains are incredibly cold, and when it snowns it falls so heavy it collapses the cities for a couple days. Same with rain, it could be dry for 4 years straight but then we have massive rains and floods. Constant sun except in the Atlantic coast which is constantly clouded. Shit only grows with proper irrigation, hald of the land is semi-arid, and the soil isn't even that fertile compared to Ukraine's black earth and such.

Impossible for the mere sake of Finland receiving arctic and siberian winds like crazy, maybe Burgos has a more constant cold but it never gets as low as Finland, so the average will always be higher.

Finland had a population of only 20-40k people in the 11th century

yeah, it's a ridiculous comparison, but constant -5ºC it's still life-threatening cold if you don't insulate, etc. Also, talking about winds, from time to time in Spain we have Saharan winds that cover the entire country in its dust, it's cool until you breathe it in and it gets into your eyes.
>>
>>220842152
>if you dont insulate
with basic clay strucuture you can insulate enough in those heats
sand storms are clearly just nuisances and mainly for cars anyway
>>

I mean, during the night it usually gets as cold as -15ºC, the average is always compensated by the warmer day, but yeah, it's not as bad, that anon was tripping.

nah, i guess that it isnt true, but its very cold still, burgos soria terual are very cold
during ww2the spanish general that went to russia said something along the lines that cold in russia was nothing compared to cold in soria
>so?
why do you thing those provinces are dying?
no public services, no infraestructure, for example the road with the higest mortality rate is the soria one, no jobs(even less that in the rest of spain)
i would like to go to small province, but i would like to find a girl before(that wont divorce me) and a job and fix my life coompletely to be honest

SHUT UP
Finland is even more rural and has even less opportunities in rural places and unlike Spain, you cannot just ask some latina from South America to marry you there
>>

Not spain but i never realized how lucky we are in california until i went to new jersey and experienced real humidity and 4 seasons instead on wet and dry. our dry season is like 9 months and then it kinda rains for 3 months

in fact its actually a downside for some plants when they dont get dark at all (corn for example)
>>
>>220843357
>explain to me why does it matter when the rest of the year is cold and dark?
Let's keep the cold out of thie topic, but in Utsjoki (69°54'N) in northernmost Finland, there are already bright evenings at the end of March, where it gets dark as late as 9 p.m. - as late as it gets dark in southern Europe in June. In October you still have there 6 or 5 p.m. sunsets, which isn't bad compared to 3 or 2 p.m.

So that's, like, 8 months of brightness and only 4 months of gloominess.

While it's true that at your latitude your sun altitude is much lower but even this isn't bad. In Utsjoki, again, the lowest the sun is under the horizon in the noon during the polar night is only 3 degrees, which is a still a bright phase of civil twilight.

Honestly, you're exagerrating. Finland isn't Svalbard, which is much, much worse in this regard.
>>
>>220843694
I dont know why you are so gloating the constant sun during summer when its balanced by endless darkness in the winter
it literally doesnt matter
its something we except and enjoy but its not some kind of superpower

try to live 1 year here and you will see what its like and see how it works. Forget some type of clock of waking up sun light. That doesnt exist here. Traditionally of course winter literally meant shorter days, but modern life doesnt work that way since we invented light bulps
>>
>>220843859
>endless darkness in the winter
Only 33% of Finland lies north of the Arctic Circle. South of it, where most of you live, you have no polar night. And like I said Svalbard, which lies far more north, is much worse when it comes to darkness during winter.

You only think it's so dark because the clouds act like an additional layer which only intensifies this effect. This, plus also street lights which cause you to think it's late.

just have reasonably insulated house, not even like too hard and there is no way you need actual constant heating
like I am in my apartment block and I have no heating on and the whole apartment has been like 20c warm for 2 months now
>>
>>220845447
cold that isnt -10 doesnt count
and no, there is no rain in Spain. I've seen it. Its not rain.
And yes its very dry but you improve the soil like a white man and no more dry
and yes you have infinite solar energy. Shut up. You dont have months that are empty.
>>
>>220845914
its fucking insane that you fucking people still heat up with gas like that is something people made fun of if someone had it like 20 years ago here already
like you are literally 20 years away from Nordics when it comes to heating systems

also looking at Germans energy strategy you would benefit a lot more if you used district heating since your remaining manufacturing industry will produce a lot of that
>>

If you're lucky enough to live in Helsinki, which is in the southernmost parts of Finland you'll get something like 6 hours of sun. In Oulu, which is in the middle of the country, it's 3,5 hours.

Seriously, stop complaining.

>no cold (no need to heat a house)

I've heard from several Finns that houses in Southern Europe are extremely cold and damp in the winter, you can't escape it. Finns are used to +20 celcius indoor heat everyone so we can't take it.
>>
>>220841639
Yeah, we are held back by our shitty bureaucratic society.

>>
>>220846666

>>
I spent 8 hours yesterday cutting down trees for the next winter and I have to read this shit, guess I should just enjoy my house at 10°C in winter

>>220846827

If you keep your house at 10°C it will get fucked with mold, it has nothing to do with cold tolerance mr. norseman
>>220847100
I don't have AC, the house never goes over 22°C even in the midst of winter, I'm chaging the roof this year for better insulation and next year I'll look into solar panels, but I drive an old diesel car I feel like I won't take full advantage of it
But the point it's that in most of spain you need heating during winter, I don't live in a particularly cold place (I'm galician and it's just rain all year around) but in the Iberian plateau the winters are somewhat harsh and houses are designed to leak heat because summers are +35°C, same with the mediterranean coastline and the south
>>
at home the temperature should be from 18 to 23
>>
>>220847508
just have good windows and good roof
it shouldnt leak that much heat if windows are closed
get the AC and solar panels
