It isn't necessary to venture in to the barefoot shoe category to find shoes with more anatomically shaped lasts. There are athletic shoes from Altra and Topo. Dressier leather styles by SAS. If your toes are squeezed it may not solely be the toebox shape; you may need a wider size. Lots of brands offer 2E width although if you need a truly wide shoe, 2E is the size most deceptively addressed by several brands. Deceptive as in the shoe isn't any wider than normal, just has slightly more material in the upper meanwhile your foot still spills over the sides of the sole.
