This reminds me of the closest I ever came to having a girlfriend.Was coming home from school, probably first semester in college. The bus is almost entirely empty. A girl gets on, possibly in my age range, but could have been in high school, couldn't really tell. She looks at me and immediately makes for the seat next to mine. Me, being the sexless virginal loser I'd always been, turned into a deer in headlights and simply looked forward or out the window, terse and with a knot in my stomach. Despite her initiative, she did the same thing for some reason. Totally stiffened up and seemingly too skittish to say anything. My stop was coming up, I felt I had to try something. It's been so long, I don't remember if I turned to her and sheepishly tried to croak something out or not, but she just as sheepishly looked at me and mirrored me. I came to my stop, got up and got out and that was it. Near same exact thing happened on the train a couple years later but here I am a hardened truecel wizard.
