What’s your city like? Do you enjoy living there?
My city is like this
>>220858486It's a nice place. It's not particularly wealthy, but there isn't much crime. Also, it gets quite hot here.
>>220858542A shitty place—the kind you see everywhere across Mexico.
>>220858486Not walkable at allHot as hellNo cultureI suffer
>>220858486It's a relentless environment of squalor, bleakness and despair and, yet, there is something oddly inviting about this urban labyrinth, this desolate cobblestone maze. It always feels like coming home.
It’s not really a city, more of a village. But there is a college town nearby which is more of a city. It’s comfy but it gets boring.
>>220859190>this is what squalor, bleakness and despair looks like in greeceyou do not suffer
Took this pic today
>>220859575They have electricity in favela?
>>220858486It's ok. Within walking distance to my house, there are shops, Family Mart, restaurants, a shopping mall, a lake gardens, a public swimming pool, a football stadium, public playing fields, public playgrounds, primary and secondary school, clinics, a train line and highways.
>>220859592How are they gonna shower without electricity?
I'm so despondent about everything. Everything I try goes totally wrong. There's no escape from this hole here. I feel drained. So far, I still haven't found a real purpose in life. Sometimes, I'm afraid to get out of bed in the morning. There's nothing to get up for
>>220858486Rich, clean, bikeable and extremely boring
>>220860109Where is this absolute kino? PNW?
>>220859190Posting a 2 square feet tourist trap in one of the ugliest cities in gayreece 3rd only to agrinio and thliva
>>220858486nice hospital dentist chinese indian thai Mediterranean food convenience stores subway movie theatre buses and light rail go about everywhere i need and nice church with regular events amtrak station goes all over the state not too bad really here in sacramento they could clean it up so it'd actually be a nice city but im not holding my breath
>>220860220Cleveland, Ohio
>10k steps!>Gotta get those steps in!!
>>220860273Literally a random dirty street outside my hole, Athenian Paki.
>>220859190>>220860481white american women would literally kill to live in your city
>>220860645I would too, it's sovlful, unlike the midwestern shithole I'm trapped in
>>220860645Yeah because Mamma Mia taught them they can have sex with 100s of exotic brown men and die an alcoholic wine aunt leaving behind a solitary child who has a crisis trying to find her biological daddy as she follows her mother's massive body count.
>>220858486BerlinIts very functional, but ugly, and the people are assholesI guess? Never really lived elsewhere. Whenever I visit smaller cities I feel this weird sense of relief, so I should probably try that at some point
I like it.
>>220860678yeah
>>220860444FUN TIMES IN CLEVEAND AGAAAAIIIIIIN (STILL CLEEEEVELAAAAAND)
>>220860678this nigga actually watched mamma mia and remembers the plot
>>220858486Yeah, it's nice except for the idiotic fucking city council and the hood which is AYYYYYY LATINOOOOOOOOOOO *gunshots*, but the historic parts are incredible and the college kids can be fun, especially the RISD ones
>>220858486we have skyscrapers now (it's still shit)
>>220858832Same. With the bonus that it also gets horribly cold in the winter
>>220860798A man can only dream of being a young white american woman in Greece...
>>220860816new england ghettos are weirdit's still weird to me how so many ghettos in new england are randomly full of cape verdean immigrants from the early 20th century
>>220860910Cape Verdeans are actually pretty chill, some have been here over 100 years because they were just lumped in with the Portuguese immigration between the 20s and the 50s as part of the Portuguese Empire. It's the Dominicans you have to watch out for
>>220860773Oakleigh was actually promised to my people 3000 years ago.
>>220860848I found out a while ago that the UK doesn't have many skyscrapers at all and we have a lot more. Strange considering our lower population differences.
It's mostly a high school football town. Those that don't make the cut turn out to be spree shooters.
>>220860816I envy you. My city’s black hoods are so bad they make the Hispanic ones look like the Hamptons in comparison
>>220860816Is this the town where the mere sight of freshly arrived Portuguese immigrants drove HP Lovecraft insane?
>>220858486Meh it's ok. Has the usual problems with immigrants in some areas but rent is cheap ($490/month for my 44m2 apartment) and there's great fishing nearby in lake Roxen.
>>220860971Yeah the hoods here are mostly fresh-off-the-boat Hispanics. I think most of the RI black people have enough economic mobility that they've moved out of the hood and dispersed
>>220860856Is that a giant mosque on the left?
>>220861007Yes I remember seeing way more black people when I was in Providence than I initially thought there were. But they didn’t look particularly destitute.
>>220860953australian cities are unironically much more developed and well planned than british cities. it's partly because UK planning permission and admin costs are a bitch, but that doesn't mean we build tasteful traditional buildings, we build ugly >6 story shitboxes everywhereperth is mocked by other aussies, i've been there and it's better than any city we have bar london (and even then it depends by what metric)
>>220860996Yeah lol, I actually read one of Lovecraft's novellas in the park I posted. Really underrated one about RI history and has as an evil Portugee in it
>>220861051>perth is mocked by other aussies, i've been there and it's better than any city we haveI actually don't know why, I've never visited but I hear it's a bit like some boring American city or something like that. Places like Melbourne are where you get the combination of really old British and Euro architecture and then really modern projects alongside it. There's also been a push in the last 30 years to get rid of 60s and 70s buildings that were deemed ugly by the public, the best example being the Princes Gate Towers that were brown blocks made in the late 60s and then pulled down in the early 90s.
it depends where one lives. the place i live right now is comfy, walkable, bikeable, yada yada yada (obv not as much as any first world cunt). but the area i used to live in before wasnt walkable at all. urban hellhole. pic related. bangalore.
>>220861196>BangaloreReminded me of this gemhttps://vocaroo.com/1iuNhFiOeJUP
I live on the edge of a small town between it and a forest. On the other side of town is a small city with bars and all that. I can walk or bike pretty much anywhere.
>>220861173>demolishing buildings in the middle of a housing crisisis that the bogan school of urbanism?
>>220861235It was the headquarters of a gas and oil company, hated from the day of its planned construction but went ahead anyway.
>>220861224MEGAKEK. been a while i heard it. the last part always gets me. >DO NOT REDEEEEEEM>AYE YOU BITCH>DO NOT REDEEEM
>>220861305I'm glad we can both enjoy these memes.
>>220858486I live in a small town

>>220858486This image makes me laugh, because São Paulo is only aesthetically walkable.
Northern, VirginiaEndless "diverse" suburban sprawl: Still livable, but has seen better days.
>>220861959you can do anything on food but its too carcentric have to cross venues all the time.
>>220858486Remember this meme? Yeah, that's my city.
>>220861565I was born in a small townAnd I live in a small townProbably die in a small town
>>220859190>>220860481Significantly better than any shit heap in America
>>220858486Never lived in a city, just a town. It's pretty good and very quiet.
Sometimes I hate it, sometimes I like it. Its Juarez, Chihuahua.
>>220858486It's ugly. The only good part is the castle and historical center. It's invaded by black people
It's ugly as sin, it got the worst traffic in Brazil, and it's pretty dangerous. But hey, it's home.I do want to live like 3 years away from here just feel saudade and come back to Recife tho
>>220863796So,you live in Sao Paulo but hate it and then you will go back to your hometown recibe?
>>220863940Recife*
>>220863940No, I live in Recife, but I think some years away would do me some good for my love with that city How does the saying goes? Absence makes the heart grows fonder?I wanna die here, but I'm also wanting new airs. The traffic here is just too godawful sometimes
>>220858486Boring af. There’s some revolutionary war stuff, but not much.
>>220864418>>220863940I don't know if it wasn't clear but the photo is from Recife
I unironically like Jakarta, esp around Bogor Red line. I find South to Central up to Ancol area walkable. And yes you can incelwalk at night.
>>220860109calm down goebbels
>>220861196did you scour through the entire city to find a spot without shit and garbage on the road?
I live in a suburb where it feels impossible to do anything without a car
>>220868287Same but I live in a small villageEurope is much more car-centric than burgers imagine; if you live out of major cities, like the majority of the population do, you need a car
>>220858486It's alright
>>220858486I rarely go out. Weekends are nice, not as many people around to ruin my walks.
>>220868317come home wog man
>>220868481La Part-Dieu is looking good now
Small and uninteresting. Decent nature though.
>>220858486It's great and I love it. Cars are a giant burden on the city budget and a huge time waster but everyone's too individualistic to care so politics suck.
>>220867185picrel is my house yaar. i literally live there. its in north bangalore though.
