Why do countries have to exist solely in the framework of globalism? You can't just be self-sufficient? You have countries that literally depend on shit like fucking wheat from Europe or tourists from America and they exist on the entire opposite ends of the earth. One retard over here does something stupid, and you end up having a famine all because you can't grow your own food. Thousands perish and your next generation ends up permanently retarded from lack of nutrition during childhood. Hey dipshit, maybe don't make a country you can't actually maintain? Why does no one just have their own thing? The only cunt I can think of that are completely self-sufficient is fucking North Korea.
>>220886066Wait... did Kimmy have it right all along? Is North Korea truly best Korea?
>>220886066Because in a perfect world there are no retards in immense positions of power to do something stupid. Democracy is meant to prevent that but clearly it doesn't work with some people
>>220886066This is anti-semitism
>>220886194Globalism is an anglo-jewish construction devised to ensure that the entire world could be ruined based solely off of their psychotic whims but it backfired when it ended up with a bunch of browns in their country and now they're crashing out trying to take us all with them to hell.
>>220886194But we don't live in a perfect world THOUGH
>>220886245Looking into this.
Autarky is impossible in today's day and age. It's too late, we're already fucked. Either you play the game or die as opposed to playing the game and dying only sometimes
>>220886337Everyone thought america was less retarded at the time and presumed they knew what they were doing.
>>220886603>thoughtyou say that like they had a choice
>>220886337>THOUGH
I come back to ZERO new replies. Next time I'll make sure to use a picture of an Asian woman, because this shit has me genuinely curious.
Access to global supply chains means you would have to operate bussiness at a loss in order to be self sufficent. Countries often do that for select industries for political reasons. China doesn’t make any money from its REM refinement for example. American and European farmers are welfare queens as well. We keep them floating via gibbs for political reasons as well. There’s a ton of other ones obviously. It all comes down to how much money you can excuse wasting and in what areas
>>220888030S E X>>220886066Is this a genuine question? Countries used to be more self sufficient, but with the rise of bigger and bigger transports, corporate fucks would simply calculate that it would be cheaper to import billions of pounds of grain from Sevastopol and have it transported to London than it would to pay farmers to grow it locally. All of this would save money, but it would devastate the local economy. Then, these same corporate fucks realised that it would be cheaper to bribe politicians to push for more open immigration policies so that millions of cheap labourers could be imported into the country because the peanut counters at the company said it would save them a bunch of money. This would save them money, but it would devalue the local labour market essentially making high skilled workers compete with third worlders for handfuls of peanuts. Now the same corporate fucks have decided to save money using AI, and well.. you can probably see where this is going.
>>220888156>Now the same corporate fucks have decided to save money using AIWhat? Like for supply chains?
>>220886066North Korea is trying that and everyone hates them for it
>>220886066>You can't just be self-sufficientLiterally never was a thing unless you think substinence level economies are neat or something.>>220888156>All of this would save money, but it would devastate the local economyWould you be willing to pay for more costly grain anon? You do know that farmers can occupy other niches outside of just "grow wheat".>it would devalue the local labour market essentially making high skilled workers compete with third worlders for handfuls of peanuts.Seamus, that is not how the labour market works at all. How the fuck did you think "high skilled workers compete with third worlders for handfuls of peanuts." remotely makes sense as a statement? You think people certified as doctors are competing with burger flippers or vice versa?
>>220888605because it's antisocial and weird
>>220888491No, I meant in the bigger picture..First cheaper materials were sourced from cheaper places to replace the local providers. Then cheaper workers were sourced from cheaper places to replace the local labour. Now AI (which is cheap, because it doesn't need to be paid or fed, housed or clothed) is being utilised to replace labour entirely.>"But anon, the AI is just being used to replace easy to do work, like basic admin or coding"Yeah, that's currently what the AI knows to do. If tomorrow there were robots who could shovel earth, lay pipe, or make your lunch, then you know they'd pump those bots out in the drovesAll to save a couple of pennies every time.Short sighted greed. Simple as.
>>220888610>Seamus, that is not how the labour market works at all. How the fuck did you think "high skilled workers compete with third worlders for handfuls of peanuts." remotely makes sense as a statement? You think people certified as doctors are competing with burger flippers or vice versa?Oh really? When all the high skilled work in the locality is occupied by cheap imported labour, what's left for the local man to do? Ever seen a headline that read: "I spent X years in college and worked for X international company, now I work at Subway"? This is the reality. While doctors aren't competing with burger flippers for the doctor's job, doctors and burger flippers are certainly competing for the burger flipping job. People get turned down from McDonald's nowadays. I've never heard of that happening 5 years ago.

Specialization is the most efficient, and no one cares about being self reliant until they really have to, otherwise it justs costs extra
>>220886066look at all the things a country needs and tell me how you can produce all that?now consider luxury products toowe have the modern world thanks to globalism
>>220886066Well imagine being Norgay for example. They don't really have much arable land, do they? It's cold, full of mountains, there is little sunlight and the temperatures drop often. A lot of fruit and vegetables simply do not grow in such environments. You probably need a lot of glasshouses, and those are just extra costs. Then you've got the fact that they're rich. It means that any worker has to be paid well. So you have to spend a lot of money just to get a poor variety of fairly low quality food.Compare it to Brazil. Warm weather, constant sunlight, plenty of land, several vegetation cycles per year and slave tier wages. A country like Norgay can import better quality food for much cheaper than it would take to produce it in their own country. Being self-sufficient is simply not economically viable. It's a political choice that some countries make for the sake of food security in a potential time of crisis.
