I apologize for making fun of German autism. This is the best cheap car I've ever driven. I will never make fun of Germany industry or Mexican manufacturing ever again.

Have any of your opinions of other cunts changed over time?
>>
>>220915705
This brand was created in nazi Germany btw.
>>
>>220915705
You don't get the same products there as we get here.
I hear mutts complaining all the time about bmw and praising Opel for reliability which is the complete opposite in Europe
>>

>Americans praise a brand they've never heard of
>>
>>220915749
But that's why its so well liked by many
>>
>>220915754
Thats cope about half of the time, but the MK7 Jetta is literally not sold in Germany. It was developed by VW Mexico in Puebla. It's pretty great. That GLI version is basically just a comfortable sedan version of the Golf GTI. Same MQB platform.

BMW isn't unreliable. Poor retards just buy used ones and don't do any maintenance on them and parts are expensive. They used to overheat a lot.

Opel used to be GM and were mid range reliable but have gone to ceap. They're now French owned. French cars were so unreliable they literally left the US market.

We don't have these here so how could anyone have praised them.

I bought myself a korean car, a hyundai some 5 years ago
it is a reliable car that gives little to no trouble and very fuel efficient
my dad says if he buys another car soon-ish, he'll buy a hyundai

Post engine crane with timestamp.
>>
>>220916403
I had the polar opposite experience with Hyundai. Engine blew up. It's a known manufacturing defect though so they replaced the engine. The replacement engine is having the same issue though and they won't replace it a second time. If your Hyundai has a Theta or Smartstream 2/2.4/2.5 engine get rid of it if it starts suddenly burning a lot of oil.

>Sure but guess what. Hondas and Toyotas in the same category won't need those repairs in the first place.

german cars are reliable, the illiterate mexican working cash jobs doing shitty roofing and then doing a shitty remap on his jetta revving it on a parking lot with other illegals yes of course it wont be reliable.
>>
>>220916617
So is a fucking jetta. If you're shopping for a grocery-getter and looking at Germans, you're doing something wrong. At least in the US.
I get that you don't like hearing mean things about your new car, but we're trying to give you real advice here. Enjoy it for a few years, but get that thing off your hands the moment the warranty expires.
>>220916621
The German-made ones in Europe are reliable. Not the same thing at all
>>
>>220916656
I used to be a tech when I was younger and have had two C-Classes previously. Entry level German cars are not particularly difficult to maintain or own if you follow maintainance schedules. The GLI is a lot more fun than what Toyota or Honda offer at a similar price point because they're all marked up to hell and back. All you'll really need to watch out for on these is the water pump and you can replace that for about $1k.

I had a C280 that hit 235k miles before it shit the bed and a C250 that lasted right up to 160k miles without mechanical faults before some dumb cunt on her phone rear ended it.
>>
>>220916656
>>220916621

Its not that. Euros mostly get diesel models which are pretty robust. They no longer sell diesels here, just high powered forced induction models which are reliable if maintained but women don't maintain them. On the subject of beaners, they actually get a more reliable non turbo charged version there with a manual and those are known for being very reliable.
>>
>>220916656
>The German-made ones in Europe are reliable.

The most unreliable German cars are the high spec complicated made in Germany models like M//// or AMG bi turbo V8s and the like. There's nothing complex about the little 4 cylinder models manufacturered abroad.
>>
>>220916621
That's not true at all. The most reliable models in the VW range are the Jetta and Passat which are built in Mexico and the US respectively. The least reliable models have been the Atlas and older Touareg.

The most reliable BMW models are the 2 and 3 which are both made in Mexico and the least reliable by a huge margin are the M5 & M6 series made in Germany.

I guess, but I'd still go for a Mazda3 Turbo over this thing. Or just save up for an actual fun car with fun suspension.
I had a non-GLI Jetta myself briefly, I'm not just shitting on it for no reason. Gave me nothing but problems, and yes I actually maintained it. Ik picrel is blurry, but most pics I have of it show the area I live in.

German cars seem really hit or miss. My dad actually has a Mexican made BMW and it hasn't had a single issue at 100,000 miles now. Mom also had a gen 1 Tiguan and that thing was a tremendous pile of shit.

Wait till you learn there's a whole conspiracy at VW; leadership fucked it up on purpose to mass layoff German plants.

Not particular best either though. Here they're infamous with modders, almost every engine part will be replaced after 5 years.

Not sure how people still fall for Hyundai. I have yet to sit in one that didn't got the flimsy door feeling, like a single, thin metal sheet on your side making you feel like in the middle part of a soda can.
>>
>>220918367
I personally think a lot of Japanese cars also have that thin tin can feeling as well.
>>
>>220918412
They dialed back a lot here. My recent nippon experience is literally just Lexus taxis and cheap EV rentals. Each fared pretty much exactly as you expect.
>>
>>220918576
*As in the EV Toyota felt thin, Lexus didn't. I still prefer Mercedes on the later for those extra cms headroom.
>>
>>220915705
They’re alright I guess but I still would take a Mazda over them for the interior quality alone. Love me soft touch materials and metals.

New Mercedes are fucking hideous. Older models are great but the new designs are far behind what Audi and BMW put out. The new C-Class looks puke inducing.

The previous gen Jetta was legit diarrhea. It was designed to be as cheap as possible to try to undercut Japanese, Korean and domestic brands in North America but it just ended up being less reliable. The MK7 actually got big investment into it to put it on the global MQB platform and shared QC and engineering input from Audi Mexico. They determined it was better to lose money up front over engineering something that was basically an Audi A3/A4 hybrid under a VW badge but branded as a VW and sold slightly below the competition, then make back the investment in very long term mass sales numbers. It paid off IMO. They picked the Puebla plant that was already slated to build other MQB platform cars and source the engines from Mexican Audi. They sell enough for it to be profitable even though not highly profitable, but it gets people who'd previously only bought Japanese and American stuff into the brand and more expensive vehicles in the long run. In Mexico the base model has a bigger non-turbo engine with multi-port injection paired to a Toyota sourced transmission and super soft suspension. I wish we got that version here.

It's just the same few actually designers knowing what they're doing getting hired back and forth. For a while everyone raved about Audi A3, then they looked like shit and now we're back to something decent. BMW i8 knocked it out of the park when it arrived, just to be followed by the i8 concept. Now after Mercedes got egged(heh) on, it's their turn to come back with a decent designed exterior.
>>

VW in here is fucking shit, they sell shitty cars for insanely prices and try to lobby against BYD. 20k USD for a car without ceiling light

The A3 has pretty much always looked good for it's time.

Always looked bad

>Now after Mercedes got egged(heh) on, it's their turn to come back with a decent designed exterior.

They've been getting consistently worse. What the fuck is this bullshit? Bottom of the market Chinese and Korean cars look far better.
>>

>>
>>220923166

>>
>>220923189

>>
>>220923315
your country do the same. how much is the tax on BYD cars out there? the difference is that you guys do it only so Tesla can exist.
>>
>>220923348
New car sales tax in the US is 0% to 10% depending on which state you're in. We don't have any BYD vehicles here apart from commercial vehicles because BYD was found to dump their passenger vehicles below market value then not honor any warranties. Geely is the only Chinese car company with significant sales here.

They leaned too much into the egg design to get better ranges. That's the whole point. Do you have any clue what you're complaining about?
