What is the consensus on pic related in your country?Here it's a big no if there's cars on the road, but if there's no cars especially at night time it gets awkward because half the people stop and the other half ignore it. You never know whether police will fine you or let you go if they catch you

I've always gotten the idea that policing around that here is soley based on the cops mood and or if they're busy because I've done it in the past infront of a cop car and nothing happened.

If you're a pedestrian there's no reason to follow traffic law, police doesn't care. I still do it because there are usually cars around.If you're driving then you always stop at red lights, signals etc, otherwise you risk losing your license.
