If you find something to complain about its probably because Germans are leading it
>>
German superiority, as always
>>
More like Germans are the only competent people
>>

This, without France the EU would be much better run.
>>
>>220932375
>>220932353
literally nothing Germans bring to the table is good
the French bring good things and bad things, but Germans only bring bad things
you can thank Germany for the upcoming internet laws since for Germans the internet is something that was new to them in the 2010s (quote by Merkel)
>>
2,5nd reich as some call it
>>
what has the EU done wrong except for mishandling refugee crisis and forcing mass brownification of europe and chat control? everything they do for consumers is based
>>
>>220932554
stoppar in dig i en vindtunnel så att skinkorna smattrar
>>
>>220932542
most people call it the 4th reich
>>
>>220932554
>what has the EU done wrong except like the most major fucking things wrong in the world
also age verification laws
nuclear isnt considered green (because of Germany)
insane green laws that destroy our Nordic way of life
regulation in industries where there is no industry
no regulation in industries important to Germany
>>
>>220932614
my favorite political commentator calls it 2,5nd reich but i've heard 4th reich
>>220932637
>no regulation in industries important to Germany
EU nuked our battery industry because we use LE COAL which is LE BLACK energy and apparently this means we should be taxed 50% on battery production
also transportation
KEEEEEEEEK

Germans (not the government obviously) are the only ones pushing for FOSS, independence from Big Tech, encryption etc

Right. Totally.
>>
>>220933354
pushing FOSS and independence from big tech and encryption by making it mandatory to use google play services to browse the internet?
>>
>>220932323
Nah it's just a retarded shitshow all around
>>
>>220933366
>FOSS
>independence from Big Tech

Retarded Euro pipe dream as there isn’t a single chip company on the continent on the level of AMD, Intel, NVIDIA, Apple, Qualcomm, etc

Europe needs to make its own hardware. Saying “just install Linux” or “just fork Android” while still running on American chips doesn’t solve the problem.

Also FOSS applications are still either extremely lacking or flat-out nonexistent compared to proprietary software. Not just giants like Microsoft and Adobe but also countless specialized software vendors. Is the EU going to fund an entire continent of developers making industry-grade software for every sector of the economy that they then give away for free under the GPL?

European cluelessness when it comes to tech is staggering
>>
>>220934303
the model in software and hardware is always that if you are behind, work on open standards
in consumer level and in datacenter hardware Europe doesnt really have anything but its there in the essentials

software issues are very minor and only thing where it will fail if it fails is legislation and supporting companies that just make shitty propietary hardware with no benefits of FOSS and all the bad sides of non-FOSS
>>
>>220933360
It's *has. Wonder if it's constantly misquoted to make it harder to google or if people just suck. From a speech at an Israeli university btw.
>>
>>220934555
Oh wait, it's actually correctly quoted for the first time. It's the "has" version that's wrong. Tricked me.
>>
>>220934521
>open standards

Right, wake me up when there’s an EU-made RISC-V based chip that is even remotely comparable to any existing desktop or mobile chips from the US
>>
>>220934652
as I said. That is out of reach for years now and not even something you should bother with first
the hardware industry is globalized enough that there is a certain security anyway in those highly developed hardware. No one can say they are independent from someone.
>>
>>220934704
Ok, so we’ve already given up on hardware. Next, explain to me how I’ll be able to use specialized industry equipment on Linux when the vendors only make drivers and applications for Windows. Would the vendors be forced to open-source their software which may include licensed proprietary components from other companies?
>>
>>220934955
also which desktop environment should software vendors target? Will the EU mandate GNOME, KDE, or something else?
>>
>>220934955
I get your point, but just because you cant have it all doesnt mean one should give up
and the specialized industry equipment crowd is usually some crackheads who use autistic music software and hardware that doesnt work on linux and thats about it...and CAD people
>>
>>220935020
>also which desktop environment should software vendors target? Will the EU mandate GNOME, KDE, or something else?
there is absolutely no need to target any DE
the ubuntu standard is good since that just provides a kernel and libraries that are in pretty much all distros and if it works on ubuntu it will work on everything
>>
>>220932323
The trvke you noggas arent ready for is that without us the union would implode in 5 years, because without us meds would be politically dominant, and in their economic """""wisdom""""" print 10 gorillion euros everytime the line goes down, then nordoids would leave to not get their economies raped by inflation, then eastoids would leave because theres no one to collect gibs from anymore, and then at best you have some med union hanging on for a few years, but the local politicians would probably use it as a scapegoat for anything bad that happens, and at some point probably do a big PR stunt and leave to save their own skin
>>
>>220935272
better than Germans forcing me to use google play services to browse the internet
>>
>>220935392
Wtf are you talking about pekka
>>
>>220935475
Germans are pushing for age verification app that you cannot use unless you use google play services and make a google account
without you cannot browse the internet
>>
>>220932353
The krautess in charge of the EU just equated Turkey with China and Russia
