I actually remember a vid of some Italian who moved to Russia and he was amazed by our customs of drinking.Like you need to "snack" something after a shot. Or first shot should be "sniffed". Or that you need exhale before taking a shot. Or that everyone shares everything at the table (like snacks, alcohol etc). Or that you need to drink for something, saying something before the drinking (it's usually done on celebrations). And some more.
America has a pretty tame drinking culture compared to most countries whether they want to admit it or not

For example, last time I went out I had a beer and four shots. A decade or so ago that wouldn't even have been a pregame. Or my friends birthday. He always gets 10+ beers per person. Last time everyone had like 6-8 drinks throughout the day.And young people don't drink as much anymore either since they raised the drinking age. Ironically it's now easier to get weed, even with our draconian laws.
