Do you wash rice iyc?
>>
I don't wash rice, I don't like sticky rice
>>
>wash rice with soap
white people moment
>>
no no no no no
pour rice in the big bowl below, put water in there until rice is fully submerged, and then rub the rice in the water with clean hands, and then drain the water. while draining the water you may use the net to catch some rice drifting away with the water, but if you are skilled that won't happen.
idk if that's safe or not but if I wash rice with soap like that here, some grandma will come to kill me

also this process needs to be repeated at least like 7 times until the water is semi-clear, instead of milky. the first 1-2 times the water is really milky opaque from all the debris on the rice being rinsed. my grandma was said to have done it until the water is crystal transparent but that's too much imo, and that will also probably wash away the nutritious parts of the rice grain

>you may use the net to catch some rice
Oh wow this is SO fucking generous! THANK YOU for giving us permission to use a net!
>>
>>220936635
yeah I put that part especially for you, had a concern you'd put the net up your ass instead. glad it helped
>>
>>220936658
Your generosity knows NO BOUNDS, o savior of rice and distributor of net permissions!

>heat up a teaspoon of oil for every cup of rice
>stir the rice it around over the flame until any sign of oil disappears
>add twice as many as many cups of boiling water
that's how I cook my rice, with black pepper and garlic
>>
>>220936507
Washing is what stops it from being sticky
>>
>>220936707
>with black pepper and garlic
Oh wow, the memes are TRUE, non-timmies really do use SPICES!

*rolls eyes*
>>
>>220936512
white person here, we don't wash rice
in fact most white people don't even rinse the rice with water first so it's all starchy and shit,
but i do
>>
>>220936753
Aaaaaand there it is, ladies and gentlemen! When all arguments fail, the rice spicer resorts to blatant chicanophobia! Typical.

I wonder if squeezed citrus (lemon lime, lemons, grapefruits...) or squeezed drupes (olives...) into the water does something to the rice...
>>
>>220936478
AI slop. Kill yourself in real life.
>>
>>220937004
Nothing. Add it when cooking the rice. You can cook rice in chicken/beef stock to get flavoured rice.
>>
protip: soak your rice for at least 30 minutes. up to 12 hours.

I eat it in cabbage rolls, or in filled bell peppers, or pilaf & fried fish, or as part of green vegetable soup (with spinach, green onion, parsley, dill...).
>>
>>220936478

Here rice is usually seasoned simply with salt, onion and garlic. It’s not supposed to be spicy. Pepper is more something people associate with zainichi nordestinos
>>
>>220936507
sticky rice is the only rice i like
>>
>>220939150
Ooooooh look at YOU!
>>
>>220936478
Depends on the instruction.
Certain brands will say no need to wash, or just rinse once.
But retards everywhere can’t follow instructions and blame the rice.
