My dad makes this in winter time, around Christmas especially

It's a comfy food
>>
I love Mexican food but it seems like these days, it revolves mainly around greasy street food and nothing else
>>
>meatballs are Mexican
You just made that up
>>

I see more 'tostilocos,' which are apparently plates of chips and junk foods mixed together.
>>
>>220938395
Ah yes, vegetables and meat in a broth
Very unique cuisine

My only criticism is relative lack of vegetables
And so many goddamn tortillas!
>>
>>220940020
Vegetables taste like nothing
>>
>>220940080
They're for nutrients and texture
>>
>>220938395
Any cuisine that goes well with rice is goated to me.
>>
>>220938395
We make the same slop in Lithuania just add sour cream instead.
>>

Nopales, Huitlacoche if you count that, sometimes radish and cucumber too, but mostly nopales.
>>

>>
>>220938395
I had this soup in Germany in a traditional German restaurant
>>
>>220938395
I have combined ground beef with pre-made burrito vegetable base and put it into rice paper

my wife makes meatballs with onion, cilantro, garlic and mint, then adds rice to the broth and some potatoes. Taste really good, but I prefer eating herbs, cacti or bean s, no meat.
>>
>>220939007
to be fair the only junk food in that pic is the actual chips the rest is limes and cucumbers and peanuts
>>
>>220946240
Why does modern Mexican cuisine have so few greens (other than cilantro as garnish)?
>>
>>220938395
It is good but it is also wildly overhyped.
t. went to the USA twice and ate a lot of Mexican food
>>
>>220946779
many people don't know how to cook them, that's why. They think cilantro it's the only green. From my pic you can see papalo, which basically goes well in sandwiches. Alaches which are made to make a soup. Calabaza flower which you can season with eggs. Hoja santa for flavor in tamales or eggs. Berro which is watercress ( they are acidic as fuck and burn your tongue ) but go great in salads
>>
>>220938395
Nah. You say it only because you in new world doesn't have anything aside from various of spic cuisines.

Mexican food is just very simple beef, pepper, beans and cheese, very mid generally.

Even turkish or arab cuisines are better for me, they have hundreds of varieties of meat prepared in different ways.
