>9-5 work hours
happens in your country? I hate this blatantly american culture transplant, now even non-corpo employers prefer this good for nothing scheme
only thing it does is that everyone starting at 8 has to more often than not stay one hour late to finish along those starting at 9
>>
Just shitpost at work
>>
>>220940281
most retarded thing is our new manager/technical leader started working 9 to 5 and everyone is expected to just stay till 5 pm but our contracts didn't change so officially we are obliged to start at 8 as well
>>
>>220940271
It's 9-6.
>>
Robert Owen is the Welsh bastard who came up with the 9 to 5 except he was actually a champion of worker's rights and people in his day worked closer to like 12 hours a day.

But yeah nah fuck this shit man, it's backsliding into an 8 to 5 here, shit's fucked.
>>
>>220940330
>>220940459
Wait, so you really work from 9 to 5 there?
You live a good life. It's 9 to 6 here everywhere usually. Like 8 hours of work and 1 hour of unpaid lunch time.
>>
>>220940271
We have flexible working hours and many people have negotiated different amounts of hours, so you can come and go as you please and no one gives a shit at my job in my country
>>
>>220940526
Same here. 06:45 to 15:45 for me
>>
I have never had a 9-5. Never had a mon-fri for that matter.
>>
canadians can't suffer

because their doctors keep killing them
>>
>>220940440
Thats how it was at my work before i went back to NEET
8 hour of work time, 1 hour of breaks, lunch and so on, so 9 hours in reality, excluding transportation time
Genuinly just me typing this out gives me trauma again. How the fuck are people willingly wageslaves?
>>
>>220940633
>How the fuck are people willingly wageslaves?
Especially in this economy...
>>
>>220940528
Seems industry specific to white collar service providers
>>
>get most of your work done in about 3-4 hours
>have nothing for the rest of the day
>have to pretend to work like a fucking retard
It's just tiring
>>
>>220940528
I have two 3 hour intervals around 8-16 where you can earn and spend flex time, it's pretty nice
>>
in 90s to early 00s
east asian people worked 8am- to 10pm for 6 days per week was common.. that was rly inhumane
>>
>>220941104
This is what people call "economic miracle" and now without this it goes into stagnation...
>>
>>220940271
I work three weeks on three weeks off
>>
>>220941230
In the sea?
>>
>>220940271
I like it. I always hated shit starting at 8:00 let me sleep you post-prussian fucks
>>
>>220941243
yep
>>
>>220940693
and that's why I love working from home
>>
>>220941279
>Oh hi anon, hope you can attend our department meeting at 7PM?
>come on, it won't even be that long, 1-2AM at most

I arrive late and leave early every single day I go to the office
>>
>>220940633
I need food for my family
>>
>>220940271
I fucking wish
t. 6 to 14
>>
>>220940677
White collar yes, service provider maybe? We're a team that makes custom software for internal use, but ultimately its a manufacturing and sales operation
>>
>>220941650
never happened to me.
don't blame the sensible model of 9-5 for the unethical treatment of wagegoyim in your shitty korpojanuszex, anon
>>
>>220940633
>How the fuck are people willingly wageslaves?
>willingly
They don't do it willingly, it's either that or homelessness and starvation.
>>
>>220940271
9-5 doesn't exist here anymore, it's 9-5:30 now
or 9-6 if they act like they're doing you a favor with an hour lunch (unpaid)
>>
It's 12 hours a day here
>>
No one does 8 hours of work, not in offices, not on the construction site, not in a store, not in kitchens, nowhere.

In offices people just goof around for 6 hours a day playing games on their laptops or watch netflix, blue collar is no different, half the time is spent waiting for equipment or tools and people just read books, sleep, or scroll their phone

I wish everyone would stop this big charade of ”Oh i’m working so hard grind never stops” everyone knows that everyone else is bullshitting. When work has to be done, people are diligent, people do good work, people focus, but lets all stop pretending people clock in and grind for 9 hours with an hour lunch break, no one does
>>
>>220940543
What kind of work?
>>
>>220946795
Most days I do like 2 hours, rest of the time is either waiting for others or dicking around. That's pretty normal unless you work in a factory assembly line.
>>
for the people without kids, no responsibilities, etc

Why do you guys even bother putting effort into working?

just reduce your spending (cook more, buy secondhand, repair stuff) and work less

if you are from the first world, the things that cost the most are services. If you can reduce spending there, you are set for life
keep yourself healthy, reduce spending on services like restaurants
>>
>>220940271
i wish, we work from 8 to 18, 6 times of week (i don't since i WFH but most people do)
>>
>>220941876
>>220944855
Its basically willingly for most people from my observations. They want to save money, buy vacations, expensive new phones and what not
Its almost never at sustenance level where its enough for rent and food
>>
>>220946795
Its not about doing focused work. Its about the humiliation ritual of being in a place you dont want to be for 9 hours + atleast 1 hour for transportation 5 days a week
Yes maybe if you're WFH with zero supervision and spend most of the time just gayming as if you were a NEET then thats a good gig, but most people have to atleast fake working
>>
>>220946922
Anon where are you going to get money to pay your bills? You can grow your own food and cook it and all tgat shit but you still have to pay for shit like electricity and water and heating
>>
>>220947984
I can stretch money pretty well
One year of salary can last me for 8 years of spending
I have been working 2 years on and take a year off for 10 years now

I need to work 5 years more to buy a house, then I'm in semi retired mode
