Niggas be like what if the whole church was a pipe organ
>>220958928>>220958906thats fucking crazyhow come ive never seen this?
Muslims will look at this thread and go >These would make fine mosques
>>220958975it's located outside the city center where no tourists go
>>220959085what are 2 muslims doing inside a church?
>>220959085ive only been abroad once but if i ever have the money to i want to see cathedral in kohln and probably this, it's reallynice
>>220958906the one where I go
>>220959099being converted ofc>>220959110it's pretty nice. 6 million bricks. copenhagen has many nice churches. pic related you can walk up the spinning tower and get a nice view
>>220959241
>>220958906Catholic basilica in Kentucky
>inb4 not christianIt's the only noteworthy house of worship I know of in this shithole that's not a megachurch
>>220958906not my town but nearby
>>220958906not my town but unusual cathedral
>>220958946>Brazil>Shadow Brazil
>>220958906Did you know that churches in Siberian cities as Irkutsk are green and white, just like flag of Siberia? In churches there is a religious meaning behind those colors but its an intresting that they match flag of our country.
>>220960677cool looks like the red keep
This is the most ornate prolly, but I like more modest Protestant churches cause I grew up in a small town in Massachusetts and it reminds me of home
>>220961189Oops forget photo
St. Peter in Chains Basilica , Cincinnati
>>220962457
>>220959675should have been white...
>>220960809that's cool actually
>>220959110>if i ever have the moneyYou literally just need a teain ticket to see any of those places...And the cathedral at cologne is mid, OP's looks better. And the city of cologne is completely overrun by non-whites these days, so don't expect a pleasant experience.
>>220958906>>220958928>>220959085you think it looks good?
>>220958906 >>220958928>>220959085i think it looks good
>>220958906Nordoids can't into architecture
>>220959085a few years ago, I had the pleasure of visiting Copenhagen, and this church was at the very top of my must-see list
>>220958906Absolutely disgusting, an attack on the 5 senses.
I don't get why it makes seethe so many people here
>>220965762took so long to be built spain isn't even catholic anymore kek
>>220965636This one looks kino, though maybe suited more for a library than a church
>>220965762It looks like a termite colony
>>220958906>>220958928I actually like it. It's very simple, but it's also majestic. Much better than the average protestant church being a repurposed store in a mall.
>>220965762The towers are nice but this shit and its posts in the bottom is so ugly and breaks the form
this one's so weird, like an alien spaceship - I love it>>220965778it's located on the main office corridor of Budapest so the building's architecture style is actually very fitting
>>220965862
>>220965871surely this could have been dressed up better
>>220965762It's literally gaudy
one where I go
>>220965977>architect when the rose window
Protestants can't build churches. They make the McDonalds of churches.
I wasn't specifically trying to capture the church I guess
>>220966144Come on now, look at this cutie
>>220958906this small ugly thing is the only one that's still a church
>>220958906brutal

Cathédrale Saint-Pierre de Rabat.
One in turkey
>>220958906Yes, it's a church.>>220966825Same
>>220966945The location is pretty, it's on a little island
the only aesthetic church ordodox just cant into building churches hey end up looking like bouzouktsidiko
>>220967682daily reminder scandinavians are practically evangelical cultists and are resposnible for the shape of american evangelicalism
>>220958906Yea it's atypical one in a city Centre but a story of it is fun>City used to have the old church(white one)>under tzarist rule ot grows due to railway>so the people want to build a bigger one>Tzarist officials don't want to have a giant Catholic church for obvious reasons>but tgey allow a extention to a smaller one>the extention is the big red one
>>220968006>ordodox just cant into building churchesYou mean balkanogiouftoi can't. Eastern orthodox definitely can.
>>220958906I no longer live there but it caught my eye when I did.
>>220958906usually I don't like this brutalist-esque architecture but it kinda works with the other buildings, the cars kinda ruin it though
>>220968576Looks like something from half life 2
>>220970289I was thinking more in the original sw films, but yeah it looks like a vault. I develoñed a liking for unconventional buildings
>>220958928Backrooms ahh vibe
>>220965762By when it gets finished it will be reconverted into a mosque
>>220958906Looks like Der Helige sol Tempel from fire force
>>220958906It's over 900 years old desu
>>220965825It's only on one side and it's made on purpose.>The Passion Façade is austere, plain and simple, with ample bare stone, and is carved with harsh straight lines to resemble the bones of a skeleton. Dedicated to the Passion of Christ, the suffering of Jesus during his crucifixion, the façade was intended to portray the sins of man. (...) They aimed to give a rigid, angular form to provoke a dramatic effect. Gaudí intended for this façade to strike fear into the onlooker. He wanted to "break" arcs and "cut" columns, and to use the effect of chiaroscuro (dark angular shadows contrasted by harsh rigid light) to further show the severity and brutality of Christ's sacrifice. Facing the setting sun, indicative and symbolic of the death of Christ, the Passion Façade is supported by six large and inclined columns, designed to resemble strained muscles. Above there is a pyramidal pediment, made up of eighteen bone-shaped columns, which culminate in a large cross with a crown of thorns.
>>220958928It always felt weird to me having chairs instead of benches, a very cool church nonetheless even though a bit too modern for my taste. An interesting detail, they made at least 2 mistakes on purpose when building it, brick pattern is wrong at a spot behind the altar and also a place above the seiling/in the attic. Reason was only God can create perfection.
Dom in Aachenpeak churchso pretty from the inside
glowie thread
>>220965527that looks impressive compared to generic le gothic buildings
Near me>>220959517Odd>>220966838This looks like the work of a spiteful Jew, no? Like your military museum with the glass shard.>>220968576There's a Mexican or Brazilian embassy that looks exactly like this, but I can't find it now. Do any autists here know what I'm talking about?
>>220974045NVM I found it. Brazilian embassy in buenos aires
>>220974493Inside.
>>220958906Looks like a big church organ. I like it.
The germans bombed our city so the genius post-war architects built this monstrosity after>>220958946That's beautiful
>>220974739Looked like this before it got bombed
>>220974974It's always such a disconnect for me looking at finnish churches because I know you are lutherans but your churches tend to look so orthodox
>>220974739that basilica was completed in 2014, inspired by the old cathedrals of Europe.i also really like the interior, there's gregorian chant at every mass.they brought from Germany an organ with 3,182 pipes (the largest measuring almost 6 meters and the smallest about 6 millimeters), 48 stops, and three manual keyboards, in addition to the pedalboard. it was brought from an 11th-century gothic church in Osnabrück, as it was broken and no longer in use, and was restored recently.
>>220959352amazing, Baroque style is the best
>>220975671church 2
>>220975708And finally the church I went to as a kid
>>220975755grim
St-Eusèbe in Montréal is famous for urbex but the parish had to put a plywood wall and guards around the area to stop kids from getting stuck and injured inside unfortunately.>>220971003>>220968576>>220960809Hellraiser church I love it
>>220977236another church in my old neighbourhood that randomly burned down two months ago

Chapelle de Fourches, it's a Templar church.
Hagia sophia
>>220960809is it burned or just third-world?
brutalist church i go to
>>220980504was raised attending now i mostly just show up for the free food
>>220980377Burned by commie apes, it was restored but they decided to leave it like that, which I think is great because it remains as a legacy of how destructive and intolerant the left is
>>220958906>>220958928Generic sci-fi church that worships “The Being” and promises you life in “The After”
>>220980528who sanctioned the clit mural
>>220973140I helped defend this church on AoE 2
>>220965213Yes.
>>220980758it's an iconographic representation of the transfiguration
It's nothing special.
>>220975507>Baroque style is the bestYea because the guy who made it was very explicitly pagan. Christians are the ultimate we wuzers.
>>220975379>that basilica was completed in 2014, inspired by the old cathedrals of Europe. It does the original justice, it's mindblowingly beatiful how the water reflects the stunning building>they brought from Germany an organ with 3,182 pipes (the largest measuring almost 6 meters and the smallest about 6 millimeters), 48 stops, and three manual keyboards, in addition to the pedalboard. it was brought from an 11th-century gothic church in Osnabrück, as it was broken and no longer in use, and was restored recently.I like that contunity you have of actual physisalc objects. I have my skepiticisms of catholocism but I do truly admire your superior, beautifuly decorated churces. They mog anything we've ever built>>220980214This implies this is still a church which I've always hadthe impression that turks would strongly deny and call it a mosque. What's the common non-nationalist normie conesunsus? Mosque, church or museum?
>>220981273One man's meat is another man's poison as they say
>>220981983that church is not finished yet, there are a lot of things still being done, such as to install stained glass windows in all the pointed arches, just like in this cathedral in Paris in the pic, which was their main source of inspiration.what I think is cool is that they have monthly organ concerts, so you can see how beautiful the music is and how powerful that organ is.
>>220958906I could cherry pick and go with one in the center of my city, but I went with the one closest to where I live.
>>220958906Only major acting church left in my town iirc and it's falling apart
>>220965762ginger bread ass looking church
>>220975179not really, some special cases here and there
>>220959215I love Italian Baroque churches with concave facades.
>>220958906Fun fact: this church, called Nostra Signora di Bonaria, is why the capital of Argentina is called Buenos Aires. Its marian devotion became popular among aragonese sailors in the Middle Ages and it spread in Catalonia as "Buen Ayre", then eventually some spanish settler-sailors dedicated the town in Argentina to it many years later.
>>220986376Oops. Wrong picture. This is the correct one.
not religious but i like the effort people used to put into churchessad they don't do that anymore thanks to capitalist minimalism/functionalism
>>220986776What's even worse is letting churches become ruins instead of converting them into public places. They get torn down and replaced by overpriced condo towers
>>220965792>Much better than the average protestant church being a repurposed store in a mall.I don't know where this meme came from, the average Protestant Church is just a Church as well, have you guys never seen Anglican or Scottish Presbyterian churches??
>>220968094Lutheranism and US style Evangelism are nothing alike wtf are you on.Lutherans in the US, along with Anglicans etc. are called "mainline Protestants" and are basically just very softly religious or secularized middle class and upper class white people. Evangelicals are often poor and ultra fanatical and tend to come from shit like Southern Baptist churches etc
>>220958906Used to go here as a kid sometimes.
>>220958906Our Lady of Victory
never been in, but I go past it occasionally. was architected by somebody of note, an apprentice of Wright (who has several buildings in town)
