>>

windows 11
i don't really think about operating systems
>>
I used a desktop with Windows 7 until last January when I got a new labtop with Windows 11 since I finally got a real job. It's fine, I still prefer 7 but I'm not a sperg so I don't have any real problems with 11
>>
>>221084082
Linux Mint, got some of my friends on it too.
>>
>>221084082

Windows 11 on both my old and new gaming rigs.
Windows 10 on my "tv pc".
Never had any issues with either, used both since launch.
>>
>>221084082
I use mac and have a few linux pcs at home because im a tech incel
I view all windows users as subhuman
especially if you have the search bar enabled with 20 programs on your taskbar and no adblocker

Are you fucking stupid?
All steam games run on linux now thanks to proton.
You have literally no excuse.
The only game I know which does not run on linux is League of Legends, but whot tf cares?

Hopefully apple will scale back liquid ass, I've been on hackintosh since Mojave. I might buy 16 inch MacBook, since they killed x86, but won't if they double down on liquid ass.
>>
>>221084426
they run like shit and there's always some bullshit to make it worse
fuck you why are you so mean you fucking cunt
>>

i have no idea
i already said i don't think about operating systems

I have win10 on my main pc, kubuntu on my laptop and one streaming box, and mint on the other streaming box in the bedroom

I was rarely using the one in the bedroom and the install would just break so I figured mint would probably be more stable and easier to fix

when support runs out for win10 I'll probably put kubuntu on this pc too. Windows11 is jeetware
>>
>>221084222
you sound gay to me
>>
>>221084082
w10 master race, still using it till runs out of support, them i switch to mint

You can turn all that shit off if you play with the settings.
You shouldn't have to, but you can.

That setting shit doesn't do much, you need safing portmaster firewall, and manually block windows application servers, you still can't block everything maybe like 95%.
>>
I don't know how are people ok with windows 10/11, I'd rather buy a mac if linux wasn't an option
>>
>>221084598
they literally don't dude, i've tried to run some source games on a distro a few weeks ago and they still run way worse than in windows
games do get more fps indeed but somehow still manage to run worse
>>
>>221084438
They run the same or better? Why are you making shit up? None of them run worse.
Did you know that the steamdeck uses linux to run games? Do people who bought the steamdeck have any problem playing games? NO THEY DON'T
Stop making bullshit excuses for your ignorance and next time you post do some research, you stupid retard.
>>
>>221084617
Yes it did.
This is just copium and/or stockholm syndrome.
>>
>>221084634
You can turn that shit off but it will still cost twice the RAM linux does for the same features LMAOOOO
Winblows fags don't know how to cope anymore.
>>
Valorant does not work with Proton THOUGH
>>
>>221084082
I use windows 11 even though I hate it, but I’m too dumb and lazy to learn linux.
>>
Also to answer OP's question I use Windows 10 because I'm too lazy to switch. I'll use 10 so as long as software I use still works
>>
>>221084677
Yeah it sucks how it’s getting harder and harder to disable their shitty features and proprietary crap through the normal channels. Apple is just as bad in that regard.
>>

Just install linux mint.
It will feel just like windows without ads and bing.
You don't need to use the terminal to do anything.

11 because I'm not using Linux
I just used a debloater script to get rid of all the garbage they dump in, like they have fucking candy crush preinstalled. I got a free desktop editor so I can move around my task bar because they got rid of it for some reason
>>221084387
Uninstall it + turn it off. It was a problem in the first thirty minutes of me having it.

Been on Linux Fedora for the past year and a half. Haven't ran into many issues so far.

never got warm with KDE
I prefer GTK-based desktop environments
but KDE is mainly from Germany I think so that's cool
it would be cool if German public administration would use German-made software like openSUSE/SUSE Enterprise Linux and KDE

>>221087480
did you use Windows before? how do you like it in comparison?

same with me in the past. it wasn't performant enough, but these days it feels good and i love it. yeah, it would be cool if more firms and organisations would use free software.
>>
>>221087729
>t these days it feels good and i love it
why dont you marry it if you love it so much
>>
>>221087729
did you customize it a lot? the few times I tried it it seemed to have a ton of options for customization I didn't even use. Cinnamon is my favorite DE I think, just a standard known layout and pretty well structured.

not much no. it behaves like it should behave most of the time, but i like it when you have the chance to customize it where you need to.

aight.

I really feel Germany should try to nationalize software and ideally build up a domestic chip designer too.
>>

yes, but i doubt something like that will happen, unfortunately.

Windows 11
I don't care, atleast it works unlike Linux or other shit
>>
>>221087904
>yes, but i doubt something like that will happen, unfortunately.
ofc not. Our politicians don't think strategically. So we will continue to be dependent on American software and chips, and the longer we don't try to catch up, the bigger the gap will become and the harder it will be to catch up if we ever need to.
>>
>>221087920
yes :/ free software doesn't fill their pockets.

>money is.....LE BAD!!!!!
why are linuxcommies like this
>>
>>221087941
well there are other challenges too, migrating to Linux, making sure all programs run on it etc.
it would certainly require professional support from companies as well, but there are companies like that in Germany e.g. SUSE. The difference is the money would stay in Germany and the know how + control over the software too.
