Dead thread again
>be me>wake up in the middle of the afternoon>make a new thread without putting "/lang/" in the title field>chortle softly as I drift back to sleep
>>221096923Is this a biographical post about you? If so, why do you have a German flag if you live in Angola? Also, nihao, m'lady. *tips fedora*
I tried InterPals for language learning but it’s just filled to the brim with thirsty men and third-worlders looking for a husband. Plus, I didn’t really see people with my target language. Has anyone tried HelloTalk? if so, what was your experience?

>>221096873>Outras línguas>CriouloCrioulo is a form of (in this case) Portuguese, illiterate nharros.
>>221097861It's not biographical but rather a condensed representation of the thousands to tens of thousands of mid Chinese girls that fail their gaokao and then end up being forced into a certain language major, yes, literally forced to pick some random ass language that the government determined to be necessary and then they end up working in random ass places like a Chinese oil joint-venture in Angola, a mining cooperation in Chile or a trade delegation in Morocco (they never end up in the actual European metropole, just some random global south countries with increasing economic ties to China).
>>221101010mostly accurate but the girls in those degrees do fake email jobs in China and stuff like marketing, they don't get jobs overseas. Those all go to the men.
>>221101169I have never met a male Chinese translator/interpreter abroad, especially for more obscure languages, other than English at least.
/lang/ in the subject field is overrated. The whole gang is already and the retards won't find the thread (like Jordie), so it's a great filter.
what is the future of languages
>>221102147We have like 5 years left until everyone walks around with wearable AI-powered instant translation devices.
what did you do in your TL today?>I did around 50 new cards or so, and reviewed another 50.>getting close to chapter 40 of my assimil book>still have to reread a news article before sleepy time>learning/adding new cards is starting to get easier and faster, which tells me im making progress.
