freemasons are based

>discuss about history
>educated
>cultured
>actually believe in god
>donate money and be good people

the opposite of the Catholic Church
>mostly atheists
>greedy
>corrupt
>steal money

They're corrupt as fuck and we're literally offering criminals protection money from prosecution in the UK. It's gotten so bad that masons may no longer apply to be British police

masons are more a general thing, not focused on religion like the catholic church, but in history theres been many group created by catholic church for specificts things, compare both is futile

>orientalist mystical bullshit
>esoteric need-to-know basis on everything
>always forms a political fifth column through 'charities'
>involved in almost every underground business you can name (see: Giuseppe Mazzini)
>became so in demand that even Cecil Rhodes said that Freemasonry has become untenable then started moving actual power centers to thinktanks via Society of the Elect/Milner Group
They did the same thing over and over until even their higher ups got bored. Also none of this touches on how prior to the 19th century they were very much in bed with Jesuits despite posturing as anti-Catholic.

My grandfather was a member of the Grand Orient of Italy, and so were my first and second stepfathers. The "Great Architect of the Universe" is not the abrahamic god. One time I brought my stepfather to church to get him to confess his sins. He told his sins to the priest and when he was asked if he repented, he said "no, I do not".
Masonic lodges are also a hotspot for corruption and subversion, that's the whole point.

In the midwestern US is pretty well has Abrahamic orientations and most of the rites and rituals are in reference to the Old Testament. This is supposed to be pretty universal but I don’t really know or care that much. I hear that in Europe the masons are a lot more formal and it wouldn’t surprise me as the coastal lodges are more akin to the European ones.

I don’t think I would have stuck around if it wasn’t just a bunch of good ole boys helping each other and the community out. The parades are fun, the kids love it, we go shooting often, and I learned how to make moonshine.

I believe (and I am not a freemason so I can't say I speak from experience) that like so many similar groups and forms of organised religion, the base idea/foundation is genuinely a positive thing that means well.

Everywhere that is a collective of humans stagnates and becomes corrupt over time once an established clique reaches a level of comfort/power. You will see this in your work place, in your governments, in your churches. I imagine parallel/secrets societies are no different. We are all driven to seek comfort and security, and then dig in to maintain that position, using our influence over others to keep the status quo going.

I don't know what the solution is, but I think the ideas taught by both the catholic church/freemasonry (from the surface level I do know) can only serve to benefit an individual. It's when this is applied to a collective that I think things go wrong.
