Is it just me or did EDM really kind of die? It was omnipresent in the 2010's but that doesnt seem to be the case anymore.
>>
thank god for that.
>>
you can only make the same song over and over again before people get bored of it
>>

Good it's the most boring electronic music
>>
EDM died late 2010s. Nowadays all the EDM folx are into house and techno (with all 100.000 different variations)
>>
it was a normie fad
other scenes are very alive and well
>>
thank god
>>
Eurodance and hardstyle are becoming hype again with a niche of young people on instagram chud-adjacent (not politically speaking but just the meme culture) circles
>>
>>221117138
Hard techno is incredibly popular here and when you listen to it and see the parties (shirtless retards all jumping around like crazy with fireworks etc) you realize it's just hardstyle
>>

This was probably the last EDM song to do numbers
>>
>>221116958
EDM is boring but i have fear of being judged of being pretentious for listening to "I"DM.
>>
>>221116958
Yeah it's dead. Now all you have is tranny breakbeat and looksmaxxer gymcel chud hardstyle.
>>
They started to notice about the jews, it got shut down

>Nowadays all the EDM folx are into house
They already were in the 2010s, remember how many tropical house songs were popular at the time?
>>
>>221116958
Sure hope so, it destroyed pretty much all electronic music genres. It showed how important gatekeeping is and keeping the things you love away from normies and their filthy hands.
>>
>>221116958
yes that's the how music evolves. it has its period of glory and then it just stops being popular and then a new genre takes over.
Personally i stopped listening to music all together since the 10s, its trash designed to stimulate your brain to release dopamine and give you a brief moment of emotion. You will go numb if you keep listen to music nonstop.

>muh dopamine
midwit

Everything is EDM now. Pop is just generically EDM with vocals.
>>
In Asia is still popular lot of EDM nightclubs
Also Kpop groups are doing more EDM style songs

IDM is great but it’s not really something I’d go out to see because it’s pretty much designed to not be danceable
I go out for techno but it’s pretty rare in my area

I still don't know what EDM is, I thought it's just a generic term for electronic music
>>
Avici type EDM was always trash.
>>
>>221120702
It can mean any type of electronic dance music but generally it's reserves for the mainstream type of EDM made by the likes of Martin Garrix, Avici, Armin van Buren, etc
Think of all the electronic stuff which made it into the charts in the 2010s
>>
>>221120760
This, except Armin van Buuren is trance.
>>
>>221120537
No, we killed muslims goyslop enjoyer.

Been through the whole EDM scene and used to produce and DJ. Basically in Europe we used to call music by its subgenre, trance, house, DnB, jungle, dubstep etc.
Eventually filthy americans picked up those genres because of Skrillex and the Dubstep hype that surged back in the early 10s but majority of those bandwagoners did not know how to classify all those genres so they kept calling it electronic music. Eventually when those genres became so mainstream that big djs and producers started collaborating with american pop stars and rebranded it as EDM (electro dance music) as an umbrella term for all subgenres of dance music.
EDM is just a general term for synth based dance music.

EDM in the early 2010s was fucking awesome. I'm so mad that it didn't become a timless staple genre as it should have.
>>
>>221121183
Such is the fate of people with an IQ of over one standard deviation
>>
personally I found the mainstream EDM artists like Avici and Swedish House Mafia so fucking bad but desu I never did any ecstasy or coke
>>
>>221120702
It is electronic music that evolved from more underground genres with a sound that is not primarily aimed at dingy clubs but huge festivals
It faded in popularity because people got exposed to non-EDM electronic music with channels like Boiler Room, etc. It is completely "mainstream" now and that is fine. There is still EDM but it got incorporated into pop music
