>Giant hogweed (Heracleum mantegazzianum) is a highly invasive, phototoxic plant native to the Caucasus that has spread widely across Western and Northern Europe, including the UK, France, Germany, and the Netherlands.

>Contact with the giant hogweed sap, followed by exposure to sunlight, causes a severe skin reaction known as phytophotodermatitis. Symptoms typically appear within 24 to 48 hours and include: Second-degree burns requiring medical treatment, risk of temporary or permanent blindness if sap enters the eyes. Rarely, hospitalization or skin grafts may be needed.

>everybody talking about the "dangerous" european animals
>everybody ignores that some of the deadliest mushrooms and plants are native here
The Death Cap and deadly nightshade arent native to NA or Australia, but they are native here. Occasionally we get like some immigrant (usually a chinaman) who thinks death caps are the same as the mushrooms in their native country, so they eat them, and then their liver shuts down.

>While the Netherlands is generally safe with no large predatory threats to humans, the goat is statistically considered the most dangerous animal due to its role in transmitting Q fever, which has caused an average of 8 deaths per year.
