Why haven't you made the switch in your country?

>>
>>221143943
Yes.

I use Linux most of the time but I still dual boot with Windows, you just can’t really game properly on Linux
>>
>>221143943
No
>>
sirs fl studio cracked keeps activating on wine

can someone help

lmms is still straight up garbage
>>
Linux is for projects where you want a lightweight and consistent setup, not for personal use where you gotta fiddle around with every little thing for hours.
>>
I gave it a go in the early 2000s.
It failed because in the end, if you need to lookup winedb to see if your new software even works, its not long term viable. And that is on top of the complete misery of gnome vs kde bullshit, and many needed high end systems such as the file explorer being piecemeal hobbist software without the final polish.
>>
>>221144056
Buy it lol

Updates have been free for almost 30 years now, it’s one of the few pieces of software worth buying…

i'm seriously considering installing two video cards and using GPU passthrough on the better one for a virtual machine running windows, for gaming only.
>>
been using it at home for over a decade now
>>

early 2000s and like umm are we late 2020s now might have a HUGE DIFFERENCE..is all im saying
like anything related to graphics is mostly moved away from wine and wine does other things now and linux now achieves ARM compatilibty as well. Arguably better than windows.

nowadays all games work on linux if the developers themselves dont block linux. The only ways they have so far blocked is either
>have windows / mac specific kernel level anticheat system that cant be done on linux
>block linux users from their anticheat system because of cheaters or something
if its a single player game or a non-competitive multiplayer game its safe to say it works on linux

its very 50-50 nowadays which performs better, windows or linux. Usually the newest hardware has the best windows performance whereas linux performs the best on slightly older ones. Especially recently where valve made a change that allows 8 GB vram GPUs to run like 30% better on linux than on windows

I remembered that when I ran Windows on a virtual machine on Ubuntu a while ago, it ended up breaking the entire OS
>>
>>221143883
I haven't used windows as my desktop OS for 6+ years.
>>
>>221144040
Only on competitive games using anticheat probes, and cheaters still manage to play the game :-/
>>
>>221143943
90% of my gaming is done on a stesmdeck. Depends on what kind of games you play and what GPU are you using (if your game needs can't do with the integrsted graphics).
>>
Already did :)
Lovin linux
>>
Why can't Linuxfags just get it through their skulls that most people just want something that works right out of the box and can run all the software they need? Pewdiepie can tinker and play around with Linux because he doesn't have to work
>>
>>221143883
tech illiterate
>>
>>221148088
Because linuxfags want normies to get out of the internet.
>>
>>221143883
I regret switching to Linux and not BSD because Linux has too many gaymes.
>>
>>221148088
This.
90% of my computer use is video games, browsing the internet and using Microsoft Office for work shit.
What do I possibly gain by switching the linux that is so amazing that it offsets all the potential headaches it will create? Linuxoids NEVER give a decent answer, every time I try to find out, I get some vague shit that nobody cares about.

But most shit that's worth playing yes

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, SystemD/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, SystemD plus Linux.

If they require secrueboot, no, but other games yes. There might be exception there and there, I've never seen 3dmark run on Linux despite some people claiming it's possible.

It's scary

Linux is popular in India, so it's not cool or something
>>
>>221143883
my first experience my linux was when my father installed it on my PC when I was a kid
since then I regularly install to check it out
and time after time it's still shit
impressive level of consistency
>>
>>221143883
I made the switch to MacOS instead
>why?
just werks and isn't full of AI bloat like winblows
>>
>>221143943
probably not no but if you can it will require installing ten apps that each need another 14 programs to run.

such is the life of a lincuck user
