did you know that english name of hungary actually comes from turkic onogur confederation?
when hungarians first arrived in carpathian basin they were called turks by the byzantines and only after byzantines interactions with the seljuk turks they started calling hungarians hungarians (after the aforementioned onogurs) to not mix them up with seljuk turks and the name spread from them
onogur etimologically comes from words on + ogur
on meaning 10 in turkic languages and ogur meaning something like tribal confederation (ogur is also a cognate oghuz which is the branch of turkic peoples modern day turkish and azerbaijani people are descended from)
