Too fancy, I prefer them more utilitarian and battle-scarred.

I've been there and it's just ruins up a hill.
Only interesting if you're a medium and can see back in time

But that's the charm, it's completely abandoned and unexploited. When I was there it was just me and a colony of starlings.

I'd much rather have that over a guided tour surrounded by nepo-state workers.

I was also alone in the whole fortress, and probably 5km around. It has its charm but it's still just ruins up a hill

Germie/frog/beneluxie castles that I've been to have all been very comfy, especially when it's not summer and full of tourists.
I like the commie block aesthetic of the Norman ones in bongland more, but they're less comfy inside.

Germany has like 10 000 castles, my cunt only has like 3 non ruined castles, 3 half ruins and like a dozen with nothing but the foundations visible.

You should be grateful to the merciful King of Poland, who generously bought the castle so that the enormous debts of the poor Teutonic Order could be paid off, even if only in part. A ruler with a heart of gold indeed. Truly a remarkable example of noble polish soul

Yes. We paid for it thought fare and legitimate means actually.
That's also why the castle has never ever been conquared

It's a bit of a shame imo that many castles in Germany were either totally slighted or extensively rebuilt and renovated over the course of their history. There are few genuinely medieval structures here.

This is ironically more in line with 18th and 19th century palaces, orientalism and artificial garden ruins.
