Why is it difficult to convert Japanese people to Islam?

Japanese people’s perspective of religion is quite different from that of Westerners. We have word 冠婚葬祭 (ceremony, marriage, funeral, festival). To explain simply, it means religion only plays a role in these four during the entire lives of Japanese people. And this is pretty old word used over 1,000 years. So we don't dare to change it.
