Pretty grim. I hate working too. I really wanted AI to cause the jobpocalypse. I still do but it seems more fanciful now.

I have a PhD in electrochemistry with 1 year of work experience in the automotive sector. I currently work as a lab slave for a medical company doing routine quality control work because the German car industry is run by dumb boomer mechanical engineers who thought that the batteries in an EV are just a type of spare parts you will just buy from someone else like those batteries in a gameboy and not literally the most important single component in the entire new car value chain.

If shes in the UK the main viable path to get into medical physics is through the STP with the NHS.
I'm sure she would be able to apply for whatever lower entry but related jobs exist in the NHS and then apply for internal positions to move up.
If shes American, they majority of institutions want PhDs in Medical Physics minimum. The days of them hiring masters grads and training them up is long over lol.

Why do zoomzooms post their professional L’s online, now every future employer who will background check will see her ranting on her TikTok that she wasn’t good enough to get an in-field job out of college. If you just lie and say you took a gap year after college for whatever reason to explain the job gap in your resume, they’ll think of you more favorably in the interview

If they already had a bachelors in physics, they probably could have done either therapeutic or diagnostic radiography, prosthetics/orthotics or something.
Radiographers are very in demand world wide from what I gather.

Even ones that are between 3-6 months? In my cunt you can just lie and say you took a yearly trip to Thailand or whatever to “decompress”, but I also work in the Tech sector so maybe its different
So you have a big enough job gap and that means you can never work in that field ever again? No wonder why zoomzooms are so chuddy

You have to be qualified, survive 8 round interviews all while having no gaps in your employment history and only then will you get the entry level positions which require 5 years of real experience in the job.

It's basically impossible to get any job in bongland if you don't have references. Pretty much every single place asks for them these days. Even if I were still trying to get hired (I gave up months ago), I can't even make it through the application process ready to get ignored.

If your """abilities""" all boil down to abstract concepts you memorized inside your head that you can't back up with actual practical mechanical skills you're providing any real value to society and thus don't deserve a salary, simple as.

I don't get is how they claim there's no workers, there's supposedly job shortages everywhere, but then they have requirements like this. I've encountered this even with shitty jobs now. I interviewed one where it sounded like they're desperate for people because no one wants to do the job, but then the guy was questioning me over gaps and the fact that most jobs i have had last year i only worked for a few months. It doesn't make any sense to expect that for these jobs they expect you to be some inhuman robot that only works 24/7 and never dares to think of moving or leaving for another job

Lets make an informal survey in here.
Why do you guys think your country job market is so bad?

-Immigrants undercut salaries.
-High taxes makes the creation of business almost impossible.
-There are jobs, but the salaries ar too low to justify the work.
-Automation.
-Ask for experience without reason (5 years to work at McDonalds for example).
-Too many ppl working in the public sector and the private is too small to absorve workers.
-You are Gen Z and ask too much.
-Artificial Inteligence.

Pic unrelated.

Generally the only reason you do one here is because you are in a somewhat related field, and specalising would make getting a job or accreditation easier (in theory), because a company is paying you to get one, or because your undergrad is an integrated masters so you get it funded with the ug student loan.

Master's Degree in Computer Science and unemployed. I'm just traveling the world doing hackathons and publishing research papers. I have never been invited to a job interview. I'm searching for jobs globally. I created a search engine that crawls the web and uses AI to identify jobs that are a good fit based on my CV and research papers. Whenever it discovers a new site with jobs posted it creates a new crawler for it. I'm aware of every relevant job listing on the planet, and there are only about 150 of them right now. I apply to every single one that I have a chance in hell of getting. Most of the jobs listings are fake and they never get back to you even to reject you. I am looking into alternative careers, because even if I miraculously get a job now it won't last. In 10 years we'll only need a tiny fraction of the software engineers we have today. I'm currently looking at gunsmithing because it's a type of hands-on engineering that is intellectually stimulating that AI will have a hard time replacing. Doesn't require a five-year degree to do either.

>>221268696

Why don’t people understand that this economy that is like filled with institutional white collar jobs is like a blip in history. It was literally like 2 generations and corresponded mainly to the brief excesses of a robust industrial economy, which we don’t have anymore. Isn’t it obvious that most people with degrees wouldn’t have jobs that need them?
>>

Job market is comparatively fine but they just moved the humiliation ritual to the housing market instead. In my shithole city its accepted as normal that you either have to spend 6 months or more searching and applying every day or know someone to find a place to rent
>>
>>221285837
You are allowed to apply to rent? That's illegal here. You have to wait in a queue for 30 years, or rent on the black market from a boomer. Basically it's a system that gives boomers luxury apartments in downtown Stockholm for 500 euros per month that they can turn into passive income by renting out for 2500 euros to a group of struggling young adults that don't have enough points to rent anything and don't have any other choice but to have 5 roommates and give all their money to boomers. Building more housing is always opposed by boomers. They don't want to lose their passive income.
>>
Non-existent.

Workplaces fuck everyone over regardless because they always throw that shitty "Canadian experiences and context" line as way to cockblock anybody who worked outside of Canada or for a foreign company while within it. I've seen companies look at a guy who had 15 years work experiance for an American engineering firm and try to spin him coming back home to be with his remaining family as a DETRIMENT. Like he was gonna instantly bail to another company the instant he finds another job that gave him his old ~Georgia income.
