What are your thoughts on Mormons? Have you ever met one? What are they like? Do you think becoming a Mormon is worth it?
>>
>>221275953
Unironically they come to Brazil to fuck our women.
>>
>>221276059
What do you mean?
>>
>>221275953
fucking annoying and creepy cult should be banned
>>
>>221275953
My friend punched one because he hates americans
>>
>>221275953
they were HUGE here in the 60-70 (CIA agents) now they are irrelevant, they have a few expesives churches. they look ridiculous with those clothes all day
>>
>>221276196
they go on missions to rural Brazil to build water wells and other projects for small towns and villages. During that time they prey on underage women there. There was a tv show about it.
>>
>>221277681
>they were HUGE here in the 60-70 (CIA agents)
Elaborate, please.
>>
>>221275953
I sometimes see some from somewhere I walk by. Pretty weird seeing Americans come to such rural area.
>>

>Pretty weird seeing Americans come to such rural area.
What do you expect them to do instead? Also, define rural area.
>>
>>221275953
they based
>>
>>221279166
"primera estaca" during the 60, they got everywere, even deep in the south... of course a few of them probably were to assist a new military coup, but not all of them.
in just 20 years they went to over 20 "estacas" and over 50K members. Now they have "members" but they still count them even when they DONT go to their cruch.
>>
>>221282643
How are they based?
>>
>>221275953
My best friend is a mormon. Last time I went to church was because of him. We got to hang out before and after service, very fun, overall good people

Did he try to convert you?
>>
>>221275953
They are unironically seen as good christians here. Normal Protestants are more seen as cultists. Utah State was saving Japanese Americans during WWII
>>
>>221286145
Not really, he doesn't want to pressure me into anything. Though he gets happy when I ask him about theology since he is a teacher at his church
>>
>>221275953
I am one. We are normal regular people like you. I served my mission in California.
Church is true. Book is blue. Jesus is always there for you.
>>221286197
We did? My great grandparents were given interned Japanese to work on their farm by the federal government to farm chickens during WW2. They liked them though and said they were lovely people.
>>
>>221275953
I've met a handful of mormons throughout my life. All very kind people who never tried to convert me.
Their religion is weird though and I can't approve of polygamy.
>>
>>221275953
i feel like if you don't mind dealing with religious shit it's the best group to join in the us if you want only whites around you and have good people around you with good values and honesty
>>
>>221286462
polygamy isn't part of Mormonism since the 1800s
>>
>>221275953
I think it's really interesting how it's distinctly an American religion. It's an American attempt at rooting old world christianity in the new world.
>>
>>221275953
I’ve been to a Mormon ward. The church services feels like some denomination of Protestant — they did a lot to try to come off as more mainstream, as just another Christian denomination, from what I’ve heard. The people are warm overall — they’re not an insular religion like a lot of others are and actively seek converts by requiring missionary service for all males, which sets them apart from a lot of other religions as well. I would never become one simply because I don’t believe in it, but they do have a nice community, which is what a lot of people are missing in their life.

Are there Mormons in Indonesia?
>>
>>221275953
>What are your thoughts on Mormons?
naive or brainwashed
>Have you ever met one?
a handful, they are not bad people in general, but they are actually sheep, I don't think they call him that but his priest is actually his pastor because they are cattle
>What are they like?
kind but very bland and boring to talk to
>Do you think becoming a Mormon is worth it?
I'd have to see if becoming a pastor is profitable, if it is and the money doesn't go directly to their central, then maybe it is.
otherwise as a drone, not at all, it's like asking if it's worth it to be lobotomized
>>
>>221275953
>Have you ever met one?
They do door to door missionary here. I live close to one just a kilometer away

>What are they like?
They tend to be young polite American men sharing the gospel of the Lord.

>Do you think becoming a Mormon is worth it?
I think they don't accept locals to join the LDS church. A few manage to get in but it's mostly American.
>>
>>221275953
Never met one IRL, only JW and Amish.

Once I broke a tall blonde mormon girl's nose by slamming the door against her fucking face. I apologized and told her it was an accident (it wasn't) and showed (not genuine) concern for her and even felt her ass when I helped her standing up.
She never denounce me lol
>>

Amish in Grenada? Really?
>>
There are so many dopey-ass religions scientologists, mormons, 7th day adventists, Jehovas Witnesses, Nation of Islam, baha'i, sikhism.
Basically any religion started in the last 1000 years is goofy.
>>
>>221287816
Sorry meant to say mennonites. They wear old timey clothing, you see them occasionally at IGA (supermarket)
>>
>>221275953
They're nice but weird. Had a small Mormon church in my old neighborhood and they were pretty chill and would help me with yard work every now and then
>>
>>221287961
Interesting, thanks for sharing. Have you talked to them or can you visit their communities?
>>
>>221287686
Yes I think I saw their church once
>>
>>221277961
Name of tv show
>>
>>221288460
I thought only Islam was allowed in Indonesia.
