Just had a culture shock hearing an american talk about how their parents checked the INDOOR camera to see who broke a cup, as if it's the most normal thing in the world. Does this happen iyc?
>>
all american children grow up in a prisonlike environment to prepare them
>>
to be honest children are retarded and it might be good to have more supervision
>>

I'm talking about a teenager, not an 8-year-old
>>
i dont know why, but some americans are incredibly paranoid. they like to install cameras everywhere. I really dont know why. Who has the time to look at the footages? That's what i wonder sometimes when i see cameras
Also I dont care if someone breaks a cup. It happens. I can buy more glasses, they're cheap. the only thing that kinda pisses me off is when they break a glass, and they dont do a very good job of cleaning it up after and there's still little shards of broken glass. then im walking around next thing you know i gotta break out the tweezers. yeouch

which immigrant diaspora are you?
>>

>their parents checked the INDOOR camera
it's part of the palantir subscription you get total surveilance on your kids and spouse
>>

..yours. ich kann englisch oder deutsche sprechen nichts. My dad was also bad at speaking english sometimes. He said "it's not my native language" but we were born here, so I think I'm just some kind of hick at this point. I even make summer sausage.
>>
>>221282684
I deliver packages and every home has a doorbell camera now that says “Hello, you are being recorded” when you get near. The freedom-loving american stereotype is bullshit, we yearn for a surveillance state

>come visit Boston to see some REAL German culture!
>>
>>221283767
nah, real. i basically am the german version of a plastic paddie.
>>
>>221283767
This is unironically true of the amish. They have preserved 1800s German culture (inbreeding and wife beating)
>>
>>221284008
do english people not beat their wives and girlfriends?
>>
>>221284174
Never
>>
>>221283213
This is also a growing trend here
>>

>indoor security cameras
utterly foreign to me
i cannot understand it

remember when americans accuse people of being nanny states?
every accusation by an american is basically self-projection
>>
Look up the company "Flock" in the US. Some totally private company installing cameras and even fucking microphones everywhere without disclosing to who they sell their data and falling outside of laws because they're non government
>>
>>221284413
jesus christ you would have better privacy on the train
>>
>>221282684
Only place I have considered installing cameras is my mom's summer cottage, because it's empty pretty often, sometimes for months, and there has been burglaries in the area.
>>221284413
OH SAY CAN YOU SEE
>>
Some people do put cameras indoors to monitor dogs and kids but it’s definitely not common
>>
>>221282684
My parents had to install one to stop me masturbating in the kitchen. I don't see why anyone else needs one though.

Seems conflicting to me. They're not paranoid about the cameras?
>>
>>221283714
They're free to record you THOUGH
Every retard thinks muh freedom is only for stuff you like
>>
>>221284413
But your countries still lock you up for criticizing the wrong people
Well, now Texas does that too and California has been for a while, but they're not really American or human
>>
>>221286767
I am, personally. I'm a journalist, and like 10 years ago I was writing articles about CCTV cameras becoming more common in the city, and how it's a dilemma for our liberty.

>>221284510
I have written about these, too. I actually tell the homeless that there's silver inside of them, so they take them down and dismantle them. Unfortunately, they realize it's just aluminum, and they don't do it again.

Recently, the American rapper Afroman won a civil lawsuit against the sheriff's department of Adams County, Ohio, that wrecked up his house, stole his money, and then tried to sue HIM for writing funny songs about what THEY did in order to work up money to repair the damage that THEY did. The basis of his legal victory and his highly amusing mockery of the authorities (which is protected speech) was the footage that he had automatically recorded in his own home and property.

in his case it was really smart to set up those cameras, because he knew someone was breaking into his house but he had no idea it was the police. it's a crazy story

Got a couple cameras in my apartment in case I need maintenance to do something. They don't have internet access though, got frigate running on my home server.

>>221282684
They have a nursery song about "who took the cookie from the cookie jar", with various people being accused and then deflecting the blame to others. What do you expect?

You're either from Texas or California, and you get arrested for criticising Israel faster in Texas than in other places.
