Good evening /int/ernational gamers. I have been thinking of ideas for a possible Gaijin Simulator 202X game I thought would be funny to make. So far I've come up with this: >different levels are different scenarios with defined objectives, e.g. traverse a train station, find your train, sit down in your seat, and wait for departure>depending on player actions they gain or lose morals. At the end of the mission they are given a rank based on accrued positive/negative morals>certain information is deliberately hidden from players, e.g. sitting in the incorrect seat reduces morals, and they need to, of their own volition, check their ticket for the correct seat number; perfect ranks on first tries are not expected, players are encouraged to replay levels and try out different options>Possible hard mode that hides moral gains/losses during gameplay and only shows result at the end, truest test of moralitySo far I've thought of the classic train scenario, but I need ideas for what other situations we could put the Gaijin in. Also any suggestions to make gameplay more fun and engaging are welcome

>>221311780At the start, have different classes for the player to choose. E.g.1. Yankee gaijin: +3 loudness, +5 cringe, +3 boobas (fem only)2. Zainichi Korean: -5 morals, +4 criminal, +3 looks (fem only)3. Eurogaijin: +3 stinky, +9 promiscuity (fem only)4. Chinaman (Hard mode): -7 morals, +5 littering, +9 vandal5. Indian (Impossible mode): -10 morals, +9 stinky, +10 rapist (male only).
Also baka gaijin can't into table manners>Blowing your nose at the table, burping and audible munching are considered bad manners in Japan. On the other hand, it is considered good style to empty your dishes to the last grain of rice.>After finishing your meal, it is generally good manner to return all your dishes to how they were at the start of the meal. This includes replacing the lids on dishes and putting your chopsticks back on the chopstick rest or in its paper holder. Conclude the meal with the phrase "gochisōsama deshita" ("thank you for the feast") which includes gratitude not only towards the cook but also the ingredients consumed.https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2005.html

>>221311780>choose your character>you start arriving on the airport>eating outside>sitting on the ground while not on the designated sitting street>tipping your landlord>starting small talk on the public transit>ask for directions - fail if asks in English (you're stressing the person on their English knowledge), fail if in Japanese (they will pretend they don't understand you), pass if you don't ask for directions and act like an autist (pass - high morals, isn't a nuisance to your hosts)>if white non-american - answer the question if you're american - fail if you say you're not (every white person is amerika-jiin)>being black - secret mechanic, failing every task regardless of your choices, because you're black and you stink and you're scaring the children, pretty much low morals by existing, there can be hints, like people pinching their noses or +1 extra seat on both sides as a gaijin space in the public transpor, but rather subtleVery good idea OP, make it like a flash game but with current technology that substitutes flash now with minimal art and animations so this doesn't eat away your time&effort budget. Keep us posted, would love to see it - definitely Hall of Fame of /int/ if gets released.
>>221312317And the only way to win as a black person is to board a plane back home. +1万 high morals!
Ask Japanese Board of Tourism for funding, they might fund you as an educational resource for clueless gaijins before they come to Nippon...
>>221312317>make it like a flash game but with current technology that substitutes flash now with minimal art and animations so this doesn't eat away your time&effort budgetI was thinking about using it as an excuse to learn unity and blender (would still be shitty no worries), but thats a good consideration, that might be overkill. Any ideas for what software to use? Idk what good alternatives there are now that flash is dead
>>221312434I don''t know, I ain't a code monkey. JavaScript? JSS? HTML5? If you make it a website it's almost universally accessible and easy to share even for normies (hahaa do this quiz), read some sources of simple pages like wordle or something, you might figgure something out.>unity and blenderNotice that every successful solo developer has an art person. Art takes time, skills and vision. You might do solo if mechanics are good enough, but you end up with a product that looks like shit - i.e. Horsey Game. You can use assets, sure, but it looks unity generic slop styled then.
>>221312693I was thinking just basic shapes and colors, and nothing fancy with lighting, and that might honestly look better if I do it with 3d models than if I try to draw them>websiteWould be the most straight forward (i make websites sometimes at work), but pretty jank to get working correctly and aids to actually develop. Would be very distributable though
>>221312801On the other hand, if I made it in unity I could release it on steam and itch io, and guess distribute a zip with the exe to everyone who wants it. l I think that'd be even better
>>221312991NO! Don't you dare release it for free!!! Copyright everything and NEVER ever allow people to pirate it
