>not a tarantula
>not a spider
>not a hawk
>not a bird despite the first word fitting best as an adjective descriptor with the second word as the noun
>not even an endoskeletal being
I get there are a billion weird animals but COME ON, zoologists/entemologists/whatever are so damn lazy.
It's a million times worse when you start looking at Latin too, everything is a "dog horse beast of the south" or so on.

The only cockroach I have ever seen in my entire life was during a grand opening for a Hannafords rebrand of a local grocery store, they had shipped in lots of wild stuff like coconuts and whole big sugarcane staffs, and we also got some grapes then found a cockroach in the bag.
They exist in the US yet I've never seen one despite sometimes not cleaning my apartment for a long time.

I know it makes sense evolutionarily, but these things still jobbing to the local extremely angry Japanese version of honeybees (folded with over 1000 layers of carbon) through a combat mechanism which is as far as I know unique in the entire natural world is still hilarious to me.
