The idea that group worship is superior to independent worship never made sense to me. Your actions are inherently more sincere when there's no one else to observe them, and there are fewer things to distract you from God.
>>221337280Of course it's from twitter
>>221337529Because a twitter post isn't reality
>>221338291the idea was probably to reinforce communal bonds and group identity. the more you see other Muslims and pray together with other Muslims, the more you identify with them.
>>221337280what's the score multiplier for streets?
>>221338563I don't knowHow properly did they made their ablutions?
>>221338291Malcolm X (El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz) in April 1964, addressed to black americans shortly after completing his Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca and marking his transition from NOI to Sunni Islam>There were tens of thousands of pilgrims from all over the world. They were of all colors, from blue-eyed blondes to black-skinned Africans.>I had eaten from the same plate, drunk from the same glass, and slept on the same bed, while praying to the same God, with fellow Muslims whose skin was the whitest of white, whose eyes were the bluest of blue. And in the words and in the deeds of the white Muslims, I felt the same sincerity that I felt among the black African Muslims of Nigeria, Sudan, and Ghana.>I had never before seen sincere and true brotherhood practiced by all colors together, irrespective of their color. My experiences in America had led me to believe it never could exist.A sincere prayer at home is more meaningful than an obligation to the congregation. But it's about social cohesion, your faith is shared alike by the rich and the poor. were you in your balenciaga armani your neighbour in tattered rags, but before god you are the same, and you are to pray shoulder-to shoulder with them. It is enough to humble the heart of the prince. There are also pragmatic reasons of course, shared identity and letting others know they are not alone in their struggles, that they can reach out to their community.
>>221338563actually quite high in the context of Eid prayers. Eid prayers are actually encouraged to be done in public areas like open fields, parks, or even streets if those two options aren't available. Why? Because apparently the prophet did Eid prayers outside so it's Sunnah. But the actual purpose was probably because Eid is supposed to be a celebration like Christmas so it's to accommodate a larger number of congregants. Also, because it's a very public display of faith. By praying in public, Muslims as a community are saying that they are present and practicing their faith proudly and openly.
>>221338644>>221338718so how many street creds did these nigas loose?
>>221337529They pray outside mosques is posturing for others to see. Same reason why a lot of them fake that dark forehead mark.
>>221338868Probably none
>>221338936>They pray outside mosques is posturing for others to seeMosques are built for the average week's strength, so sometimes there's no choice. It's not a tactic like bodybuilders working out on the streets or placing yoga classes near windows to entice membership.Usually in the month of Ramadan (sometimes friday) a lot of people that only occasionally pray on the regular days start pouring in, and there's no place to adjust them. So they start praying nearby to be with the congregation.Eid is a special occasion.>fake that dark forehead markhmm?
>>221338710Are kashmiris muslim?
>>221339187Yes brother. predominantly a muslim ethnic group on the border of India and Pakistan, with a strong sufi influence (shrine veneration and stuff like that). For a time our hindu baradars secretly ruled India from the shadows through administration, bureaucracy and politics. Like the first PM and first woman PM of India were kashmiris (Nehru and Indira Gandhi). And we're known for our artistic exports like walnut wood carving, cashmere/pashmina shawls, copper work, til kaem, paper-mache etc. I think a good amount of our saffron also flows through the US.
