In France, most restaurants just buy pre-made food and reheat it.

When you order a dish in a French restaurant, the "cooks" just take the pre-made dish from the freezer and reheat it in the oven.

Customers don't notice it because they're dumb and retarded.

French bakeries also do this. They just buy pre-made patisseries from Metro, then pretend they made it themselves.

It's a meme in the US. Everything in every restaurant comes from a company like Sysco.

It is common but it is frowned upon

Is it only for cheap local eateries or is the standard practice even in the so called haute cuisine? Like Michelin star chefs do it as well?

That's why you do research before shopping to see if everything is homemade or not

why does it still taste better at the restaurant?
