I'm a 34 year old man living in severe isolation, haven't had a friend in ages, I lack social skills and I live alone, getting very lonely after work and it sucks. I sometimes think my life would be easier if I had a voice to talk to, not full-on schizophrenia but like someone to talk to in my head, at this point I wouldn't care if it's not real (maybe, even better that way). But all I got inside is complete silence. Is there any way to cause yourself mild schizophrenia? Serious answers only

I'd be your friend in your head if I could

Almost 2 years ago I smoked a lot of weed and I started to see voices. Now it's almost all gone and I feel lonely.

Unless your family has a history with schizophrenia no, it's 90% genetics, the only real way to get it otherwise is psychedelic abuse and even then chances aren't that high unless you have the genetics for it
>>
>>221353246
schizophrenia is not what you usually think it is
>>
>>221353310
I've heard weed can cause it - but it smells a lot and I'm a grown up that has to show up at the office

Is it a typo or did you actually see the voices? if so, explain deeper, it's interesting
>>
also no. I've heard of tulpas which you could do. but I don't recommend causing yourself mental issues. as one schizophrenic said "it's amazing how much suffering you can put yourself through, without realising you're putting yourself through it"
>>
>>221353347
fun fact; often it's substance abusers who hallucinate seeing things, whereas schizophrenics more commonly hear voices
>>
No tulpas have always been an /x/ troll
>>
Literally just imagine it

I'm interested in voices only. Visual hallucinations seem like a thing that can cause you trouble in your daily life routine. Anyway, doesn't seem to be the option to cause them on command. Closest I've been is lucid dreaming. But my mind is so rigid and rational that the dream will last only like 2 minutes before blurring and waking up, so I cannot get interesting interactions in dreams while conscious either. Also I tend to forget what happens in there easily.

people who get symptoms of psychosis at some point in their life are far more common than psychopaths, for example
>>
>>221353530
Imagining a voice is useless. Can't hear it and the thought process is just my thought process, it's not really an actual interaction
>>
>>221353549
please don't try to make yourself have mental issues, it's gonna end up in suffering. you have other ways to cope with your situation

>Almost 2 years ago I smoked a lot of weed and I started to see voices
This actually happened to me one time during the handful of times I've smoked, with a guy saying as clear as day-
>"I'm sorry to say Mr. Anon, but it looks to be schizophrenia"
Then heard my dad say-
>"Hey buddy, I'm heard the news, I just wanted to tell you I'm here for you
I don't even have a family history of schizophrenia so I don't know if it's because I smoke as infrequently as I do or if marijuana generally seems to be a lot stronger in this country than the rest of the world, but it's not a drug I would regularly consume.

or no one in your lineage smoked it before

If you wanna know what schizophrenia is like you can go on a multi-day stimulant bender. High dose comedown effects are really close to what paranoid schizophrenia is. Just make sure you do proper research so you don't kill yourself.

Tulips
>>
>>221353246
Yeah that's called a tulpa. People on /x/ create them. This probably isn't a good idea though, you should try to make friends, even just online friends.
>>

I mean obviously that might very well be the case and I would probably agree if it weren't for the fact that friends have had similar experiences after consuming enough and and whole explosion in 'Cannabis-Induced Psychosis' with ERs increasingly having to combat this. It's just not same drug anymore and I think a lot of that is probably due to our cannabis industry and the whole arms race in respect to THC percentage.

I remember when we used it many years ago in a friend's apartment and it would become a running joke among us that whenever any of us left and came back to the apartment, we'd knock on the door and say "hello this is the police/customs "officials (they deal with narcotics within the country)

This seemed to happen a lot with Euro exchange students smoking weed here during my time in university

Interesting. We don't really have that here. There's talk of substance use awakening your mental illnesses, which I believe is scientifically proven, but I never saw it happen and I know a lot of people who smoked before. We're mostly cursed with sativa strains so if anything people just feel anxious.
