>>221365885you don't know anything. the Bumiputras are indigenous here, and we were the ones most left behind during colonial days, and the non-Bumiputras were mainly brought in here by the british. when we were about to gain independence, the non-Bumiputras didn't want to leave, so Bumiputras accepted them as citizens and the Bumiputra rights enshrined in the constitution are there to protect us as the indigenous people here. you'd find that the economy is mostly controlled by non-Bumiputras, and there exists discrimination against Bumiputras in the private sector, so the affirmative action policies are partly to counter such discrimination. in general the Bumiputras are very tolerant, even accepting of the non-Bumiputras, as seen by their economic success here
