Industry (90% of which was destroyed in the 90s). Housing (which was shitty, but nowadays it's even better than the capitalist-block pods). Space program. Urbanisation laws and infrastructure, energy etc.
We still mostly on what was created in that time. Current government did little aside some new automobile roads and new extraction points development.
>>
>>221378308
Retard, gigareligious people like Russian Old Believers still consider it a grave sin to work on Sundays. People make Sabbath jokes, but this was widespread in the entire Abrahamic world (Friday for Muslims, Saturday for Jews, Sunday for Christians).
>>
>>221378351
how does your post contradict anything I said, brainlet?

Lots of cheap resources, money was pouring out everywhere for companies trading with them. including Nokia, making telecomm systems for them at a 500% markup. they then put the money into RnD and made their phones and conquered the world. So Nokia wouldn't exist if it weren't for them. Being able to trade with both blocs was a major advantage for us.

I don't care politics

the presence of the Soviet Unon was higly beneficial for western Europe. It forced capitalists to give benefits and concessions to workers that would not have happened if there wasnt a costant background from communist parties linked and financed by the USSR. The USA also brought mainly only the good parts of its system to Europe for the same reason to show it was superior. I wish the USSR would come back
>>
>>221379173
W Europe basically becae the field where the 2 suiperpowers would export only the best parts of their systems trying to shpow their own system was superior to the other
>>
>>221378021
The Cold War gave our country a steady rallying point that we have not had since it ended. We are no longer as unified as we were back then.

The Global War On Terrorism wasn't the same thing. The enemy kept changing.

It forced americans to actually invest down south wich is good and bad. Bad because it legitimized the government in gunning down students. Good because jobs and watnot
>>
>>221378021
It was the only time the rich pretended to give a fuck about us because they didn't want to risk a turn to communism
>>
>>221378400
Here in mexico we had sundays off since Spanish times so i don't know what the fuck you're talking about
>>
>>221379445
>>221379324
why not use CHYNA as your communist boogeyman then? it's not like anyone would care that they're not really communist today.
>>
>>221378021
Can't think of anything tbqh. Even the Ottomans left here the bathing culture and rolled cabbage. German occupied Hungary wouldve been better astronomically so its pointless to even argue about the positives of Soviets
>>
>>221379503
20 years post-Soviet collapse was enough time to enslave us in toto, everybody is now too desperate to avoid starving while thoroughly propagandized by our corpo controlled social media to even bother fighting for a better future
>>
I started high school in the late 90's and the collapse of the USSR resulted in a flood of Russian refugees. My school was the only one in the area to have an ESL program so all of the Russian kids ended up there, including a lot of hot Russian teenage girls. I fucked two of them, Irina and Kristina. I thank the Soviet Union for that opportunity.

We industrialized and urbanized a lot under them but it's more about missed opportunities rather than what we managed to do. If we were west-aligned after '45 we probably would have developed way more.

The only positive thing that actually affects me are the commieblocks. If we were western I'd be renting and not owning right now.
>>
Government, unions, employers reached satisfying compromises.
>>
>>221378021
They helped my country industrialize by building factories across various industries and training the workforce.

My grandfather got to study electrical engineering in the USSR. He later returned and worked as an engineer at a tire factory the Soviets helped build.
>>
>>221378021
They collapsed and flooded us with actual doctors and scientists
>>
>>221378021
We gained a whole lot from beating them
Jury's still out on if it was just a delayed mutual loss though, we've been fucked up pretty bad and way worse than anything we gained
>>
>>221378351
Having to spend one day of the week in religious service and forced ceremonial rest is different to having two days of the week to do whatever you fucking please.

I heard even the slavs are escaping Germany recently, lots of Poles are coming back here.
>>
>>221378021
literally no fucking way compared to what the government and the subsequent future could have been if the White movement had won. all the achievements of the soviet union could have happened much earlier without the judeo-bolsheviks starting a revolution and losing the WWI. 80 years down the drain
>>
It was such a dysfunctional shithole that they had to buy everything of worth from Finland.

>>221378051
this, and much more along this line

i really wonder how big the east slavic Population would've been

Workers rights were a big thing, on the other hand we experienced massive public spending and huge debt that now is suffocating us. Right now we need a proper pension reform because the system is a ponzi scheme and completely broken.

A better question is what the USSR did indirectly.
It forced its adversaries to be kinder to smaller countries, and the latter gained more bargaining power in exchange for loyalty.
Dialectics work both ways. That's why this world must be multipolar, to keep reason awake.
>>
>>221386713
It's true, I was the Estonians
>>
can't think of single thing, if anything its legacy directly fosters tangible evil
world peace can only come when both the US and russia become radioactive wastelands
