Europeans like combat sports like kickboxing. Americans and Russians prefer wrestling. What explains this?

I'm just saying I've never known anyone who did wrestling(or other other grappling except judo) nor have I heard about it being popular in other European countries but Americans and Russians seem obsessed with it
apparently Finland does have a lot of gold medals in it at the olympics but I think it died out when the Soviet Union fell and we became more culturally Europeanized

I prefer wrestling whether Greco-Roman, Freestyle, Judo (jacket wrestling) or Sumo
It's just more interesting than strikes imo
