For a rich world financial hub New York looks very poor outside of certain parts of Manhattan and areas in Brooklyn close to Manhattan and a few rich enclaves in the other boroughs like Forest Hills
In Paris you can go around from the center forever and it still looks really pretty because it feels more like a collection of towns
